The GB really do not want us to think for ourselves Mar 15th WT
by life is to short ini know that some of you might think that i really should be reading the wt but with a husband still in and being that i am still very tied to the religion though him i want to know what is up with them in some ways.. the march 15th wt made me feel sick.
on page 5 it was talking about how we need to wait on jehovah.
it was really the same old stuff but i feel with a different twist.

I for myself, don't believe anything (experience wise) in a watchtower. Especially those that portray (spelling) someone giving up a lifestyle and doing more sales work for the company (WTBTS) and coming out ahead. They are made up LIES LIES LIES and damned LIES. Like God is going to care if you go out and knock on more doors with no one home. Just to place the society's magazines which will be used (especially in the north) for starting paper for the fire place, at least then it will have a good use.

What Jesus Said About the Flood
by Franklin Massey ini was reading this debate this morning (decent arguments on both sides and an overall respectful demeanor):.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/205158/1/look-it-wasnt-a-global-flood.
much of the discussion revolved around other mentions of the flood in the bible.

Jesus could have been referring to an actual flood albeit not total world flood, or like. someting along the lines of children of the whole world wait on Santa Claus to arrive just as we wait for the WTBTS to be truthful. he could have been refering to some myth that a lot of people knew about and just referenced it, that doesn't in itself make it true it just makes it something people know about.

isn't it wonderful how tied they are to FS time. I mean hey what have u been doing with your time? a comment i head awhile back from a co was that is was just about sinful to not be out in FS and doing the D-to-D ministry. Yeah right! If anything is a sin connected to the ministry it's the going out and deceiving folks in the first place.
Well that's the society 100+ years of uninterrupted time wasting at the door to door nonsense unimpeded by the advances in communication technology. They are living in the last days alright, the last days of communication technology from long long ago.
have a good one everyone.

What is a false prophet?
by Spade inif jehovahs witnesses are false-prophets, who can we look to as a prophet(s)?.
http://www.watchtower21.org/2011/01/what-is-false-prophet.html.
a false prophet as described in the old testament under the mosaic law covenant:.

The are the only channel Jehovah uses to talk to us today, by saying that, they are regarding themselves as prophets. and they are false prophets as can be seen by all their fase predictions. 1914, 1918, 1925, 1940s, 1975 etal. Just to name a few. You can't have it both ways, The R&F are to regard the words coming from Crooklyn as coming from God. So I don't know who you are trying to convince but they the WTBTS are and have been and wil continue to be false prophets.

brotherdan, that at matthew 28: 19,20 is not a command to us, it was given to the eleven as per vs 16, not all people who believed in the christ. This is a misconception in my view pushed by the WTBTS to get you out in service/sales of their magazines. You donate for them, and if someone donates for getting one they want that $$$ too. It's all a marketing scheme for the WTBTS. Not a commandment to all men.

How would you answer: Archeology
by sabastious ini have noticed that the professional archeology community, in my opinion, likes to jump the gun.
they seem to fill in a lot of historical holes with little actual evidence.
not to say they don't fill an important role on this planet.. what is your general view of archeology and why?.
-
ssn587
archeology theories are just that, they will theorize, and will admittedly most of the time if not all say so. The WT however, puts their theories out as fact and one has to believe them or else. When it is brought to their attention that they have erred, they accuse the person who brings it to their attention.
New lite is their way of saying oops, but without of course saying so, everything change or alteration is of course new lite. and old lite isn't looked at as being false, it's just old lite.
they the Wt are great practioners of self delusion and denial.

Elders and liability issues
by wannabefree inelder, have you contacted the society's legal department and asked if they would recommend you carry a personal liability insurance policy?.
it would be interesting to hear their response.
would they say yes, no, or that is for you to decide.. the society has been sued and has paid out big settlements.
-
ssn587
the only way the society would get involved if an elder were being sued, is if they themselves were mentioned in the suit and were also being sued, my guess is they couldn't distance themselves fast or far enough. The elders and as a by product, the elderettes would be left hanging in the wind so to speak.

I asked my best friend how the GB makes its decsions last night...
by dontplaceliterature inmy best friend does not know about my recent mental defection from the watchtower, but i am having trouble keeping my feelings from him completely....so, last night, i asked my him if he thought the governing body was always in 100% agreement about every policy/doctrine decision they make.
" i asked him how he thought they went about making those decisions and he said that, "they probably discuss it as a group, research it, read the bible together, and discuss it some more until they come to a conclusion...just like a boe would when deciding a judicial matter.
" i said: "don't you think that if they were jehovah's 'mouth-piece' and they are indeed being guided by jesus christ and holy spirit, that there would be no doubt about what the right course of action is?

DPL they are just men and nothing more, to think otherwise is silly at best. Yet, many still think they speak for god, but just think about 2 Thess. 2:
who is it that sets in the temple in the place of god and thinks they speak for him. that is one I will going over with my family soon.
