Making money on disaster relief was another reason, had asked the PO if it was true that they asked those whom they helped to donate the insurance $$$ to the society and he told me they did, he wasn't so forthcoming about did they help those that refused. Just one of the many things that were a wtf to my mind. My wife's treatment was the final kic in my rear to get me out.

I was basically awake after the generation fiasco in the late 90s, stayed because wife needed my support. How she was treated while suffering depression and the lack of care from her supposed friends was the last straw. My last meeting was inJuly of 2011. I was at the meeting and got up and walked out never to return.

Faded for almost 10 years and still getting random calls
by ctrwtf inhi all, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat.
wifey and i dropped off the face of the jw planet almost a decade ago and still get 3 or 4 visits a year mostly when we are not dressed or expecting visitors.
it's really annoying because we are both wondering why they don't get the hint already.. we don't want to move because we really enjoy where we live and both have careers that keep us in the area.. i've asked politely that they stop calling but like the "godfather" they keep "pulling me in.".

I answer the do it holding a 45 no matter who is at the door, that's probably why they don't call.

O put it tersely, no! Quit believing in the mythical sky daddy years ago. Started using critical thinking then light bulb went off no different than unbelief in Zeus.

A Visit from the JWs, knocking at our door...!
by Muddy Waters inha, another visit from the jws.... thankfully they are few and far between (seem to roll around whenever the co visits or is about to visit...)an elder and his wife, presenting the magazines and inviting us to the talks, which are "so encouraging".
he had the saddest, most hang-dog expression, as he bemoaned these last days, so critical to deal with, and how the world was getting so terrible, things are so bad, blah blah blah, and every time i looked at her, she smiled encouragingly at me with that bright-eyed, put-on "sincere" smile.
i thanked them for coming, and said, "i appreciate you thinking about us" (after they said how the "missed us" at the meetings, ugh) -- "but we know where the kingdom hall is if we decide to go back.

The Bible a wierd book.
by James Mixon insome events in the bible can be questionable but there are some stories the rings of truth, and why do i say that because they are so descriptive.
judges 3:22 "ehud an israelite judge, goes to the king of the moabites to pay annual tribute.
instead, he pulls out a dagger and stabs the sh--t out of the king while he is bathing, he literal caused the sh--t to flow and the dagger disappeared in the folds of the king's skin.

Did the fish crap out Jonah? Talk about a line of bs as the Jonah story is. The Bible IMO should be renamed as, "the Mind's mythological bs, lies, and fairy tales Book." Also, IMO, the nonsense in the Bible May be a direct cause of dementia and Alzheimer's in elderly Christians and more so in JWs.

Update: My current situation
by Issa init's been about two months since i stopped attending meetings, came to the conclusion that the org is not the truth, and i'm currently dealing with some problems since leaving the org.
i want to discuss these problems and hopefully get helpful advice.. discovering the truth about ourselves is a lifetime's work, but it's worth the effort - fred rogers.
my current situation in this: i faded and hold off on writing a disassociation letter.

Talking to the elders about your concerns will accomplish as much as sitting in front of a mirror talking and expecting a concerned response to your questions/misgivings and out right lies of the Borg.
