  the watchtower will be studied tomorrow that contains the new overlapping generations teaching.

  paragraph 10 reads:.

  "he evidently meant that the lives of the anointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other anointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation.".

  one brother actually said generations of anointed have been overlapping since Jesus' day

  That's the old understanding from not too long ago. The new one is about two groups of contemporaries overlapping.

  I guess they got too greedy and figured out they better keep that previous understanding on hand for when it becomes

  obvious that this "contemporaries overlap" is running out of time, but by then it will be 2060 and nobody will remember

  that back in 2008 they'd come out with a generations of anointed overlapping since Pentecost idea.

  Well, this is the way it went today at the congregation I'm visiting, there was some coughing on paragraphs 10 and 14

  but couldn't really tell as they were coughing and hacking away through most of the study.

  But the funny thing was that the WT reader actually gave a small cough and cleared his throat right at the "evidently"

  point, but he did it so matter of fact and graciously that I wouldn't have noticed unless I was expecting someone to

  cough out in unbelief. So I followed it by a big cough that everyone would notice just in case there was any hard of

  hearing of the "conscious class" present.

  Explaining the NEW Generation!

  explaining the new generation teaching:.

  this is for anyone who may not know yet what exactly the "new light" is on the "generation of 1914":.

  god has now revealed to the governing body of jehovah's witnesses the true identity of "this generation that will not pass away until all these things occur" spoken of by jesus at matthew 24:34!.

  Present day anointed or not, the problem in discussing this with any active and loyal JW

  is that they will repeat whatever they think it's the latest understanding according to the

  WT explanations. If 40 or 50 years from now they say there's another group that overlaps

  it will be met with the same willingness to go along with the "New Light" as this latest

  change in doctrine. The WT/GB is such a slimy scoundrel that they'll have another explanation

  on hand and will make the R&F feel as if their expectations were wrong to begin with and

  not accept the blame for setting up the expectation in the first place. They've done it before,

  they've done it since the start, they'll do it again, and again and again. And there will always

  be those gullible enough to fall for it.

  I'm listening in to the meeting at my old congregation, back West, on the phone

  there's been coughing at the 9-10th paragraph question about three different

  coughs. At the 13-14th paragraph reading, during the start of the 14th a lot

  of coughing. Then during the reading of the question about three different

  coughs were discernible.

  The meeting at the congregation I'm visiting is in the afternoon, so I'm

  practicing my one and only comment during the WT study, that is I'm

  going to cough out loud during the 10th and 14th paragraphs.

  If you attended the meeting today how did it go in your

  congregation?

  many of us are aware of the stroke that raymond franz had yesterday,.

  that he is on life support and it doesn't look like he is going to pull through.. someone on another thread mentioned if he didn't survive how many.

  was planning on attending his funeral.. to me this deserves its own thread.. .

  Brock it's obvious you don't understand what Ray's life and his experience means for many of us.

  It is one thing to show appreciation and respect and another to worship. And I don't think anyone

  here worships Ray. But I bet you he's very much respected for the honesty and the bravery he

  showed in exposing the goings on of the higher echelons in the WTS. Ray is a Christian man a

  person who has shown respect to those he has been in touch with and we owe him the same

  respect back.

  If you can't understand please don't make a fool of yourself by talking trash on this forum.

  BTW are you the same Brock on Barb's PalTalk?

  Ray's books are a wonderful eye opener as it concerns the inner dealings of the WTS.

  I'm glad I had a chance to read them and I recommend them to anyone reading this

  forum and who still attends meetings or is active as a JW. Do not be afraid to know

  the "truth" from someone who was there and witnessed it all from inside the sessions

  of the Governing Body and then was brave enough to share the "truth" of what happens

  in the GB meetings. Ray Franz deserves our thanks and our appreciation for his effort

  and his honesty.

  Ray Franz has had a stroke

  just setting the record straight.

  there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.

  he is still alive.

  Thanks Sooner7nc for that quote from Ray. It really shows how sharp he was even at 87 years

  and having had a minor stroke already. I love his books and have now read both. They are a help

  in understanding that the WT Society isn't God's Channel as they claim, but only a manipulating

  religious book publishing and magazine printing corporation that takes advantage of us gullible

  people who thought we were getting into paradise by following their lead. Instead Ray's books

  helped me to find the real freedom in Christ. May he and his wife feel how loved and cared about

  they are from so many people around the world. I hope and pray for peace for him and his family

  during this difficult time.

  Will The Governing Body Enforce the New Generation Understanding and Muzzle Open Criticism Among the Rank and File?

  to keep every jw on the same page about the new light on extending the generation to mammoth's lengths of time the gb will no doubt be squashing any open criticism,, even the old cronies at bethel will looking differently at the gb when that starts happening.

  even the most hardcore believer will be looking at the governing body in a "new light".
