Portuguese get jipped
by JWinprotest innot sure if anyone else has heard, but here in the portuguese district that covers southern ontario and montreal had their convention cut from 3 days to 2 days.
when it was announced they told the congregation that they would be getting the same program in 2 days......but weeks later they were told that they could not take part in the invitation campaign because the theme of the public talk was printed on the flyer and they were not having a public talk.
does anyone know the reason why they would do this to just this one group?

having all their congregations abolished back in the mid 90's only to be reinstated a few years later.
Please tell more about this.

Could Watchtower Collapse Be Sooner Than You Think?
by metatron inthere have been a number of developments over the past few months and they paint an interesting picture.. witnesses can keep dragging themselves to meetings ad infinitum however, the future of the watchtower itself is another story.
the evidence of continuing cash flow problems is now overwhelming.
if you talk to well placed witnesses, most won't deny it but simply blame it on the publishers financial problems.. they have cut off loans to congregations many of whom genuinely need new kingdom halls.

When the "Anointed" Contributed in Numerous Ways

my jw friends and i are discussing the current topic revolving around the downplaying of the anointed remnant's existence and role as contributors to the spiritual growth of the other sheep.. i took very seriously the opportunities i had to aid the many "anointed" whom i knew personally.
those i associated with were not crazy, self-deluded individuals but very devout christians who helped to ground me spiritually.

I knew a brother who claimed to be of the anointed and partook at memorials.
He died recently. A very decent man. Very stubborn and self-minded, though.
And if he thought you were full of it he'd tell you right off. He had a hand-shake
like a vice and a rib crunching hug. He didn't seem very intellectual, more like
a regular Joe, and faithful to any WT doctrine in current vogue. There were
rumors at my Congregation that he'd stopped partaking. But they weren't
true, he partook till the year he died, I asked the brother who gave his
memorial-funeral talk. He didn't leave his wife with much of anything. She's
now a widow, she never partook of the emblems. She's in her mid 60's and
he was around the same age. I'm not sure if he ever wrote the Society but
maybe I recall him saying something about "checking with Bethel". He was
never an elder or a ministerial servant. He had a strong love for people in
the organization and a lot of people put up with his quirky ways because
he was easy to talk to, and very approachable with constant big grin and
squinty smiley eyes. (If you'd put him in a red suit and hat he'd make a perfect
Santa Claus :-) He was very zealous for field service and talked to anyone
and everyone.

Number of memorial partakers given in July 2009 KM
by Mickey mouse infor the uk it was 275 (that they're willing to declare anyway).
i don't know how that compares with last year.. how about in your country?.
