I sometimes dream im back living with my parents and still married to my ex, even though my mind is free my actions are totally restricted. horrible dream.

by Phizzy inlast night i watched a docco on the telly, which i think was done by the good old paedophile hiding bbc, about the "dark charisma" of hitler.. it pointed out that within the worship offered to hitler, there was an element , quite pronounced, that affected most of the populace, that he was not to blame for the short-comings of the nazi regime.. "if only herr hitler could do everything himself, all would be well" was the attitude.. i see a similarity with the attitude of jw's about the gb , despite the grandiose, bloated, and yet baseless claims of that body of arrogant frauds, the average jw simply will not lay any blame at their door for all the cock-ups.. the often heard "they are only imperfect men" claim is really the same one made about friend adolf, and it holds just about the same amount of water.. do you see other similarities between the nazis, hitler et al, and the gb/wt ???
and with the attitude of the german nation and the r&f jw's ?.

No one wants to be associated with an employee who disturbs co-workers in the name of religion.
it took such a long time after leaving before even my 'worldly' friends would treat me normally - ie behave in their own way in front of me - swear and joke - it just goes to show how weird I must have been to them - and it must have been worse in the workplace!

Do you ever make a toast (raise your glass, I mean, not put bread in a toaster)?
by sd-7 ini had quite the fun time at my wedding reception with the jw family so worried that my non-jw aunt was going to do a toast.
unlike them, i do have regard for not offending the conscience of others, so of course i wasn't going to allow that under the circumstances.
i mean, if they really thought i was going to let them do that, why did they even come in the first place?

we were always told clinking glasses had something to do with expelling demons. - doesnt everything? lol.. anyway in my husbands family its a tradition - everyone has to clink glasses with everyone else... if theres ten of you at the table thats like 45 clinks lol

Hiya problemaddict and sorry I did not mean to sound blunt! It's late here - I have teenagers and my ex is still a witness.. I've never stopped my kids going but I always offered alternative explanations - a lot of the older generation have good morals but as for my age group and below I would say they have a higher divorce rate than anyone I know - all my nieces and nephews were at 16 so hung up on courting and finding a mate and married by 18 - I would be horrified if that were my boy - he is 17 next month - I love seeing him trot off to college every day with no cares, play his guitar, go to jam night, go to concerts, be a teen! Something a lot of witness youths are totally robbed of in the name of 'morality' I just generally made it clear that if they subscribed to that lifestyle they would not be able to mix with school friends, play their fave video games etc etc.. Shallow but it worked...! I just didnt want tyem growing up with the concept that they were 'bad' or 'wrongdoing' I hate that - I hate when people are made to feel guilty or negtive I do think as a religion it ruins self esteem - we are miserable sinners we are not worthy etc etc
