  Diary of a fornicaterin' slow fade...kinda long

  summer of 1992 - all is well, graduated from high school as the salutatorian.

  one would think i had college dreams, but alas i did not.

  i was planning to take my data information processing certificate and get a part-time job while i pioneered!

  I started to laugh then I was horrified as I read down. I usually dont read posts if they are too long but yours was interesting and very human. reminds me very much of some of my own experiences. its horrible to be an intelligent person trapped in a simple religion, where every question has two possible answers only, and its all so simple because its all so black and white.

  you sound strong and confident, funny and able to look back and see how you have grown from it all, and this is the route I hope many can take, instead of being what I like to call 'the ex witness' - in that you never leave it behind and you are forever defined by what you were instead of what you are xx

  my mother let it slip the other day that all the families in their hall are putting together a small suitcase.

  inside this suitcase are to be things that you will take with you if given a 5 minute warning that the great tribulation is starting and you need to leave your home.

  my father seemed quite embarrassed that this slipped.

  erm. how will there be a '5 minute warning' ? surely it will take longer than that to phone everyone. especially now the groups are disbanded. what if your mobile is out of signal. or email is down?

  the following are questions that i've heard jw's ask, normaly they ask nobody in particualr, which is just as well because nobody in particualar ever answers back!....

  will we have seasons in the new system?

  if so how will we keep warm in winter etc?

  I agree, make new friends. you are better than that, and it seems a lack of friends who accept you for who you are and not what you choose to believe is what you need to gain some perspective and realise you are better off without those kinds of people.

  I have left so many behind I considered friends, - but friendship by its nature is chosen - as witness you cant choose your friends in the same way you cant choose your family. - so I say, choose your friends, and choose ones who will make you feel good. in the long run you will see that these people only care about you while you are in the organisation.

  heres a thought.. yesterday, i asked my ex what he thought about blatant hypocrisy that goes on, such as the reinstated girl still on my facebook, who posted all her halloween party pics up this weekend... he said he agrees there are a lot not living up to what they pretend to be, but its not the religions fault its the true religion and has gods backing.. i said why did he take his favour away from the jews and place it on the christians (theoretically).

  he said because a lot of them werent following god.. oh said i. so does that mean he will take his favour away from the witnesses too?.

  ... (no because they are the truth he said) - so black and white arent they?

  i apologize if this has been mentioned, but i don't have the time to come on here as often.

  yesterday's bookstudy on divorce got my shorts in a bit of a knot.

  apparently, according to the god's love book, a wife could consider legal separation from her husband if she is physically abused, but (get this) only in the case of extreme physical abuse, and if the wife's life is in danger.

  the sad thing is that women who let their partners beat them, love them too much to leave anyway.

  I dont think thats what its saying, that its ok to beat on your wife, but I think the pressure to stay in marriages that dont work, or to cheapen yourself and have casual sex just to find a way out of your marriage is very saddening. if people could just seperate due to extreme incompatibilty, then they would save themselves a few judicials. mind you they would have to be at home with their wives more then..

  oh and update on the friend. she still puts her fingers in her ears and goes lalalalala but now her bf has moved in she is doing all the xmas and halloween things, though she advocates she still doesnt believe it. Jeez.
