  A debate for S.O.M

  i am not a christain, but i do read the bible and believe myself to be a reasonabily moral person.

  i have homosexual friends and relatives and would like to see just one bible passage where jesus himself says "men should not lay with men".... perhaps i may have missed it- or perhaps you practice paulianity instead of christianity?????

  48,165 New Publishers in ONE MONTH!!!

  the december 2009 okm (courtesy of iloowy) provides a new field service highlight: in august 2009 the u.s. reported publishers of 1,154,275; a new peak and an increase of 48,165 from the july 2009 report of 1,106,110.. .

  fyi: 2008 peak publishers for the u.s. were 1,105,798. therefore, an increase of only 312 publishers from 2008 to july 2009. where did these 48,165 come from in one month?.

  how are they manipulating these numbers?.

  Are you an 'Ex Witness' or just you?

  i just wondered how people feel about this?

  - do some only mix with other ex witnesses a couple of my friends, and it seems that by definition, they are 'ex witnesses' almost like a religion in itself.

  - i would never define myself as an 'ex employee of xxx' as you leave it behind it doesnt define you.

  I think its interesting what people go through, -

  first it was denial. - I didnt want to discuss religion,

  then I started to look things up - questions

  started to get angry tried to speak to my family - deaf ears

  joined some forums on facebook and here

  deleted forums on facebook, - didnt want my vehement outbursts being read by all

  didnt post on here for 4 months

  had a vacant period in my life devoid of everything - came out of it in a metamorphisis.

  added 2 groups back to facebook but more of a casual observer

  came back to here out of general interest.

  On here, yes Im an Ex witness, in the scope of my whole life however its just a part of my past (25 years of it but nonetheless) - its not who I am, and I agree with the real life in that you can help and encourage others.

  Are There Certain Posters You Trust Here?

  i've been on this site for a number of years now.

  i don't easily trust just anybody.

  having said that, there are a few persons here that know my real identity and i'm comfortable with them.. are there certain posters that you trust here?.

  Is mental illness actualy messages from god?

  i don't mean depression or somthing of that nature.

  i used to work with patients who suffered from severe schiofrenia etc, they would claim that they were god, son of god, gods mesanger etc.. of course they were highly medicated and put in a place where they would be taken care of.

  it was a rough section of the hospital to be put, in fact the chances of making it through a shift with uniform undamaged were silm and there was porters ( guards) behind each locked door.

  I always thought that the wtnesses who claimed to hear demons etc were simply suffering from mental health issues.

  (although back in the day deafness was enough of a reason to be banged up)

  Homosexuality may not agree with some bible verses. - I suppose we cannot even quote the words of jesus because he didnt write any of the bible, - indeed he was quoted through others. - and that is indisputable. but we were all given free will and free choice, and as far as I am concerned, a gay person may who is leading a happy life and doesnt hurt others, is more acceptable to god than an over righteous zealot who calls down evil upon others.

  there are so many trains of thought with religion, and most of it doesnt agree with homosexuality, it just makes room for it, and that may be contrversial and upset some but it is true. - however, IF God is real, his son died for EVERYONE, - and all have the opportunity whoever they are to seek out what their own spirituality means to them.

  I dont think that christianity is the only way. - I think as usual its the white mans answer to taking over the world (depsite its roots before anyone wants to tell me they came from judaism) - and there is room for all belief systems, - you cant simply write off the rest of the whole world as being false - I think thats so bigoted, and thats the cause of most wars through the ages.

  He stated that he was gay, so therefore is practicing it.

  Im straight but Im not seeing anyone right now. - so Im not practicing anything..

  my congregation is running a little behind.....got it today!.

  on an entirely different note....... they also passed out songbooks for half of the congregation but of course my last name isn't in that batch..... i will hopefully get one next sunday but if anyone has gotten theirs.....please scan it in for the forum!.
