My Reservations About Calling the Garridos JWs
by undercover inthis thread contains my thoughts after having read several other threads regarding the garridos being jws.... just because it is reported that the garridos are jws doesn't mean that they are really witnesses.... they may have some link to jws such as her being rasied one, his studying while in prison or any number of possibilites where they came to know a little about jwism.. even if they were baptized along the way somewhere doesn't mean that they were active, participating members in the local congregation.. there's a lot wrong with the jw religion and it's policies have helped protect pedophiles and other sexual predators from being brought to justice but i have reservations about shouting from the rooftops that the garridos were jws, when 1) it hasn't been confirmed and 2) it really doesn't do anything to expose the wt society's culpability in covering up sexual abuse.. the garridos are truly whacked.
i'm sure that local jws are just as horrified at what's happened as the average person is.
if the garridos had any connection with a local hall, i bet that the local jws were wary of them due to his nuttiness.

A relavant point of this topic is simply the fact that a dangerous and destructive cult is brought into the "lime light". As of late, the Org. is receiving much bad press and it is putting them in a defensive mode. Without doubt, active Jehovah's Witnesses, as well as the general public, have noticed what is being said about the Witnesses on T.V. and in newspapers. The rash of recent murders, kidnappings, tortures, molestings, and connecting just the term "Jehovah's Witness" to the reports certainly "speaks volumes" for those exposing the Watchtower org. The strict policies and teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses are deliberately designed to "paint a bad picture" of every thing and every body. They don't "cut anyone any slack". Over 12,000 references in Watchtower publications condemn Christendom and how evil and un Godly their clergy are.The Watchtower takes every opportunity, every single bit of information they can to condemn and destroy all those outside the Org. So when people who have been adversely "touched by the tentacles of the Watchtower" speak out to alarm the world of the dangers of the Watchtower org. I don't draw the quick conclusion that this should be termed as "sensationalism". Whether one is a Governing Body member, a Circuit Overseer, Elder, Pioneer, loyal Witness ,Baptised Publisher, Unbaptised Publisher, or interested person studying with the Witnesses. it is irelavant. What only matters to me is I caught the term "Jehovah's Witness" tied in to these unthinkable, horrific crimes. I called the org. to see what they think about all this bad press. Here is the link

The squeaky clean image of the Jehovah's Witnesses as of late is becoming tarnished. News releases concerning Michael Jackson and the events that took place with his burial and who he would leave his children with has also raised concern and brought the Witnesses under a dark shadow. Prince certainly isn't bringing any glory to the Watchtower org. Constant references to him and the Watchtower have done nothing but "sour" the organization. Then there are the Williams sisters. Great tennis players, but also great in embarrassing the Watchtower org.Parading around with the American flag. Serena's revealing outfits and comments that are now haunting the Watchtower org.And the list goes on. I'm sure Brooklyn is getting many telephone calls concerning what is being said in the press. Phone call to Watchtower concerning California kidnapping case and possible Witness connection
by the research lady inearlier this week, geraldo rivera appeared on the nbc today show and stated that nancy garrido, was one of jehovah's witnesses.
nancy, along with her husband phillip are both being charged in el dorado county california with multiple counts of rape, forcible lewd acts on a child and kidnapping for sexual purposes.
each were also charged with more than a dozen special allegations that could bring them the death penalty if convicted.

The recent news concerning Michael Jackson is opening lots of eyes and getting the Witnesses to think. Michael Jackson disassociated himself back in the 1980s, but yet his mother and other Witnesses seemed to have no problem associating with him. Rock star Prince, the Williams sisters and other famous people have no problem telling the public about their connections with the Jehovah's Witnesses. How can it be that the organization, known as "mother" treats all of her children differently. "Mother" has always encouraged her children not to participate in worldly pursuits, such as being a rock star or a professional athlete. Why the double standards?
