Would you accept an identification chip beneath your skin?
lord no. sounds very Minority Report-ish...
would you accept an identification chip beneath your skin?
i know this is about medication records, buto you think there will ever be a day when we wont be able to "buy and sell" if we dont have a chip to replace all our credit cards etc?

just home with my ten week old son and thought i'd pop onto jw.com.
some of my old friends are here.
i wanted to share that i'm now a mommy.
congratulations on your new little bundle of joy. i just know he's precious and adorable!
seriously i just dont understand the thought process behind what people do at xmas and the holiday season.
have you ever noticed how negative and stressed out people are?
i come into contact with a lot of people at work and as a job requirement i have to make small talk with them while taking care of their transactions and services.
i dont know maybe because i have not had the opportunity to really celebrate xmas, i just dont understand where peoples mindset is. honestly i would give almost anything for what they have...the opportunity to spend a whole day or weekend with family and friends, socializing, eating, drinking, taking pictures, making memories. i wish i could know what it feels like to have that history and know what it feels like to have traditions. i wonder if its the redundancy that makes people miserable. whatever it is i've never heard so much whining and complaining as i do this time of year.
don't let a few whiners give you the wrong impression. i've found that people who complain about the holidays usually complain about other things in life too. christmas, like life, is what you make it. i luv the lights, making cookies, finding fun presents and then wrapping them, getting dressed up and having fun at parties, watching one of the many christmas movies on tv and sipping hot cocoa...trimming the tree while listening to christmas music... every year we each pick out one new ornament to put on the tree...this year i got a hello kitty one and my son got a moose on skis. people who are stressed and crabby are usually stressed and crabby regardless of what time of year it is or whatever is going on in their life... try to avoid the scrooges and hang out with the fun people, you'll see
a member of the gb splits breaks away and takes a few billion with him.
he decideds to found his own church.
this church is almost exactly the same as the jehovah's witneses except for a few major changes .

one of the things we were constantly taught as jws was that the vast majority of the world are intrinsically bad; wicked enough to warrant destruction at armageddon.. last xmas, a film "love actually" (sentimental tat really but who says we don't need sentimentality occasionally) was based on the idea that everywhere people are in love and being loved.
also, a couple of tv documentaries shown recently in uk, michael palin's 'himalaya' and ewan mcgregor's 'long way round' had these intrepid travellers visiting remote corners of the earth.
it was striking just how friendly and helpful people can be to strangers.
[ Last Xmas, a film "Love Actually" (sentimental tat really but who says we don't need sentimentality occasionally) was based on the idea that everywhere people are in love and being loved. ] omg, i LOVE that movie! [ So, what's the verdict? Are people intrinsically good or bad? ] good. definitely.
i do.
once you realize how much bondage you were under....it's easy to feel good not having the weights of man made rules.
it's very liberating for me to tell people that i no longer associate with the jw religion----very liberating!!
absolutely
So I had a blast shaking hands and exchanging laughs with the elders who were always very friendly and happy to see me.
my sister asked me to help her paint her house one saturday and several witnesses dropped by that day and they kept smiling at me and calling me "Sister so-and-so", even though i'm not. it was funny to see them assume i was one of them... i used to quake in fear of elders and now i felt..evolved.
after leaving a controlling sect, it?s normal to want to live ?freedom?.
what did you do to show that you were no longer under the influence of the watchtower?
did you grow a beard, start having sex with whoever, start drinking, start gambling?
I never have been the type to do things just to be rebellious.
After I faded away, I just did what I wanted to, without any guilt.
ditto. (and very eloquently said, i might add)
what does it mean when a jw says they are "inactive"?
does it just mean they don't go door to door, or does it mean they've stopped attending meetings too?
kj
What does it mean when a JW says they are "inactive"?
it means that somebody forgot to wind them up
