What happens to the programs running on your computer if your computer is destroyed?
they see this blinding white light and hear Bill Gates' voice saying "come into the liiiiight......"
it's been over a year now since my dad died.
i feel sad about it a lot because i don't believe i will never see him again.
i realised today that being raised a dub has closed my eyes to different views on death.. what do some of you believe happens after death??

honestly, are you a better person now or were you a "better" person when you were a jw?

i prefer to trust someone like the apostle paul, who was in constant direct communication with God.
the christian god... there's lots of religions out there...
Man do I ever miss Calvin & Hobbes. No other strip out there today even comes close.
i like "get fuzzy" bucky katt is a riot lol
hehehe...
song of solomon 3:7,8 has solomon so terrified of the "night" that he has 60 valient men with swords drawn circle his bed each night.
the book has shown to be a reworked fertility goddess poem in other threads.
the passage here seems to be betraying the superstition of night demons/monsters that roamed around slaying folks in their sleep.
afraid of the dark?
(i think i saw that story of solomon with "60 valiant men" with drawn swords around his bed on the playboy channel one night )
i remember one of my childhood friends was found dead and the police said he committed suicide.
i just could not believe it because my friend was a "devout" jw almost franatical about it.
now years later since i have seen both sides of the coin i am beginning to wonder if my friend did indeed kill himself.
my niece has attempted suicide twice. once with pills and once by cutting into her wrists. the first time she was in "the truth" but just going through the motions. the second time was when she was disfellowshipped. now she is reinstated and on 7 different medications and says all is wonderful and nothing bothers her anymore. wheee....

your soul goes on this wonderful cosmic journey, in which you get to see things only God can:
...then you are reborn on Earth (reincarnated). p.s. no one taught me this i just believe it. i'm gonna become a Buddhist, i think.
i'm sorry about your dad
Even when they are abusive and insensitive towards their offspring, children still desire whatever vestige of love and approval they can get from their parents, and will often be obedient just to receive attention and care.
o0o, so true...
along with some other companies, this jw that runs lifeline, david kelsey, had his picture in the newspaper.
he was accepting $500 from a charity that provides money at this time of year, the heading was, "the season of goodwill".
you hypocritical pig.
my niece hangs christmas lights in her bedroom...i didn't ask, but she volunteered that since she doesn't buy them for a christmas tree she's not doing anything wrong - she just thinks they're pretty. her mom buys turkeys at thanksgiving and marshmallow peeps at easter and candy pumpkins at halloween. and that's ok 'cause they're "not celebrating what they represent". hmm, so if someone decides to hang a swastika in their house, or a pentagram on their front door because they appreciate the artistic/graphic design of them, they can just turn a blind eye to what those images represent?
riiiight. (said in dr. evil's voice) can you spell h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t-e ?
