  this one comes from (sun news), the thread is incomplete at the end, but here is the story anyway.. one of the first things i thought about when i read this article, was how many jws i knew who were (not) permitted to have (federal) or government jobs in times past.

  i also wondered how many social security numbers this guy may have sent to the watchtower at their request, violating privacy regulations.

  1 - 14 oz can of pitted cherries,tart.

  1- 14 oz can of cranberry sauce with whole berries.

  these are cute and deelishus...

  Butterscotch Gingerbread People
  Makes about 12

  1 small box butterscotch pudding mix (cook & serve)
  1/2 cup butter, softened
  1/2 cup brown sugar
  1 egg
  1 1/2 cup flour
  1 teaspoon ginger
  1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  decorations or icing
  

  Preheat oven to 350°. Cream pudding mix, butter and brown sugar in a mixing bowl. Beat egg in. Add dry ingredients and mix until blended. Roll out on floured board and cut with cookie cutters. Add candy buttons, cinnamon candy hearts or other decorations as desired. Bake for approximately 10 minutes and cool on baking sheet 5 minutes before removing to a cooling rack. Cookies may then be
  decorated with icing as desired. Makes appx. 12 large cookies, many smaller ones, depending on size of cookie cutters

  before baptism, outsiders are never viewed as having quite made the grade of fully fledged brotherhood, in fact, when greeted in the kingdom hall, many of us, especially if not raised in " the truth", were often made to know this fact merely by the words we were greeted with, or how we were acknowledged in meetings, for instance, when commenting at the watchtower study.

  "mr anderson" as opposed to "brother mitchell", was to me a sense of arrogance to be tolerated until having made the final cut from intrested person to non-baptized publisher to baptismal candidate and finally baptized brother.

  are these word games that can be associated with cultlike phenomenom, that of being jw and the status received after baptism?

  Somebody- Please Help Me UNDERSTAND?

  i understand there is a ton of anger out there toward the wts and dub's, and rightly so... what i don't understand is this notion that there is an evil conspiracy on the part of the wts and dubs as individuals to subjugate and control the unwary (or however you want to label us) for some evil sinister purpose.

  i know what they are doing and agree it's wrong but to what purpose- i mean you can look at televangelist and see what's up with them (follow the money).

  but what's up with the dub's.

  hmm... yes i'm angry sometimes because of what the WTS did to me, my self esteem & psyche, and my fractured family... which took years of hard work and some therapy to overcome and heal. and i see them doing the same thing today to so many others, and i know it will never stop.

  if the witnesses "plot" anything it's the maintaining of a constant vigil to protect the organization at ALL COSTS... including SHUNNING THEIR LOVED ONES, LETTING THEIR CHILDREN DIE RATHER THAN GIVE THEM LIFE-SAVING BLOOD, OR PROTECTING CHILD MOLESTERS. any one of these things by themselves would be awful... yet they do them all earnestly to "give praise to Jehovah". without questioning it. they should call themselves "the blindfaithians"...

  i'm sure timid witnesses look here on a daily basis but do not join for various reasons.

  King's Cross Station- Platform 9 and 3/4
  Many young wizards, such as the famous Harry Potter, eagerly await the trip to Hogwarts from Platform 9 3/4. In order to do that though, they must go to King's Cross Station in London, by way of muggle transportation since it is a muggle train station. Between Platforms 9 and 10, there is a barrier. To any muggle this wall seems perfectly solid. But to Hogwarts students; however, it is the gateway to getting away from home and getting to Hogwarts. Through the barrier one goes, and then they find themselves among a horde of students, all saying goodbye to parents. Such is the bitter sweetness of platform 9 and 3/4.

  Are we having an impact on the WTS?

  thanks to pro-active people like simon i do believe we have an impact on the wts.

  i think ex-witnesses are better adjusted and recover quicker because of these web sites.

  i know i was able to deprogram and come to terms with being in that cult for 24 years much quicker than being divorced after 15 years.
