  Who do you Worship now?

  So, who?. Jesus?, a "Saint"? one of the many Pagan Gods? or Satan himself?. Or don't you worship any god? I think it would be intersting to see who has your attention, Well in all cases above Satan would have your attention but i just want to see how. I heard of a few who grew up as Witnesses but are now Satanists.

  satan who? dmac...you had such promise. i thought you at least weren't that far brainwashed. i don't worship any god but i do feel a wonderful spiritual presence in nature, especially when i'm in the mountains or woods, or even in my garden planting flowers. how could you think we worship the devil? he's so last millenium...

  is the universe and life both the same thing?

  i mean is there really duality in life and universe??

  a crude examlpe of what i mean is like take your body it is made up all kinds of specialized cells and even aminals like bacteria and virus not to mention molecules etc.. yet you veiw it all as "you" what if the whole universe is like that,,and we only think we are seperate.

  If a plant is conscious and we are interconnected to the plant and we needlessly senselessly kill this plant to build another mall, then we are killing ourselves.

  personally, i cringe if a beautiful tree gets mowed over for a starbucks or blockbuster video.

  my favorite tree is the aspen. i was at this park one summer in colorado, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of them, and the wind came and made them shiver - it was like millions of tiny bells. i'll never forget it...

  i guess knocking on 100,000 deaths is just a minor slip-up.

  knowing the response of jw's to the horrible situation in asia and their reasoning of it, makes me feel indescribably sick in the stomach!

  So sad...but yes, I thought of this too. A 100,000 and rising, that is a lot of people.

  the picture on today's front page was sadder than sad... a couple weeping over their young son, who was lying dead on the beach. just three people out of thousands and thousands...if that were my son i'd walk straight into the ocean, no doubt about it. it's times like these i start wondering why god doesn't do anything about it i mean if i were god i would not turn a blind eye... god could probably just think in your direction and save you. i hope someday i understand that once and for all.

  Are you sure? Just kidding. But that happens beween humans too, and they are conscious, therefore...

  not if one of them is comatose... (jk)

  in that there is instant comunication and to me that implies consciousness maybe not like a human brain has consciousness,, but consciousness just the same.

  i never thought of it that way before. well, i'll be the first to say that man has only uncovered the tip of the iceberg of everything there is to know about the universe...that "out-of-thebox" title should have clued me in...thank you for the post, very thought-provoking.

  We have no pictures of anything below an atom (I think). We know nothing of what electrons look like it is all theory. So things get pretty spooky when we talk about sub atomic particles because they are nothing like our world at the scale we function.

  i think there may be something to your theory. i've been reading for the last hour all kinds of websites from universities, etc., and they all come to the conclusion that music does indeed help plants grow, especially classical music. i was gonna suggest "here comes the sun" for my sunflowers, and "strawberry feilds forever" for my strawberries, oh well...

  p.s. i do have to add however that the ocean responds to the Moon's pull, but that doesn't mean it is concious it just has something to do with physics...

  hushing now, wishing i had taken a life sciences class...

  oh. thank you for explaining that.

  i agree that there are degrees of intelligence, and different "types", but i don't think a plant or a tree is concious in the sense that is it aware of itself or its surroundings. plants do follow the sun, but not out of any conciousness; rather a chemical reaction (chlorophyll reacting to sunlight)...

  (ok now i'm thinking of that simpson's episode, where lisa meets jesse grass, a "level 5 vegan", who "doesn't eat anything that casts a shadow")
