i attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.
the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.
well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.
What amount of PDA (public displays of affection) people are comfortable with is individual, but there's nothing scriptural about imposing your own comfort level with a social convention on others.
You start making rules like that, and it's all about one person or one groups standard becoming enforced as the norm and people will get sick of that pretty soon.
a couple of young people about 20years old,,,,were involved with each....they went too far with the being alone situation....not sure if they reported themselves or some one else did...reguardless.....i guess the elders asked both of them extremely embarrassing questions and very very personal ones...like what kind of underwear she wore,,,,,did she have an orgasm.....etc etc..... i do not understand why this is done?????

My dad was an elder who stepped down at one point but the bottom line is this is how elders are taught in elder school to handle these sorts of matters.
It's rather like a legalistic cross examination, isn' t it, where a prosecuting attorney is trying to ascertain every motivation or thought in a person's head when they are accused of a crime.
NO matter how in depth they question someone and ferret out every intimate detail, they still will never be qualified to judge or able to read people's minds or emotions.
So, all I can figure is this is some lame attempt to do something that even the Bible says only God or Christ can do..read people's motives!
Also, there's some bullshit WTS definitions of "fornication" involved in all this...if you have an orgasm, you're having sex, therefore, pornea.
I guess if your boyfriend is a lousy lover and never gets you off, then you're a bit more chaste than some slut who might actually enjoy being fondled or masturbated.

I know of Witness couples who really suffered thinking that they'd committed "fornication" by having either oral or anal sex.
I don't know why the waffling, but maybe someone got the nerve to finally ask them where the specific scripture was that defined those acts between married people as fornication.

Or maybe someone threatened to sue them for sexual discrimination or harassment or something, or just to butt the hell out of other people's private lives. I hope so!
Even the government doesn't pry into what kind of sex you're having behind closed doors between consenting adults. I always used to wonder what kind of voyeurism it took to charge someone with sodomy? Oral sex the same...who goes around looking into windows to find out what kind of sex people are having?

Boy that guy must have really been uncomfortable at assemblies. All you'd see is people hugging each other who hadn't seen each other in a while.
