Satire, South Park, Al-Qaeda and the "Truth"
by metatron inhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/7594722/we-should-laugh-at-al-qaeda-says-report.html.
this think tank raises some good points about the benefits of ridiculing fanatical religion.
how amazing to think that the ever crude writers of "south park" are leading society in the way it should be going - especially as regards islam and the violence triggered by any display of mohammed.. this also points the way for breaking the hypnotic spell that enslaves witless thralls: open ridicule of watchtower leadership and their endless false prophecy.

What do you say, if someone asks if you go to church?
by Bonnie_Clyde inclyde has a great answer.
he says, "no, i take my faith too seriously.
" he says that ends the conversation.

My brother in law who was raised JW but never baptized (yay!) is a gay Druid...LOL...he tells them when they come to the house, "I'm a gay Druid...pick one or both as a reason we don't need to talk!"

I do in-home elder care, Grace. If I lived near you, I would come in and take care of you for dirt cheap! Elder care homes are often the pits even when they try to give decent care because it's still institutionalized everything, food, schedules, etc. They have to do it that way because only the wealthiest among us could afford one on one care costs, unfortunately.

In England, I hear there is a legitimate Star Wars Church.
Hey, it works as well as anything else I've heard as religious belief, and better than JWs by a mile.
I mean, you get to carrry a lightsaber, how cool is that???. If I could do that in the JWs, I might be tempted back. But, only to the Dark Side...bwahahahaha!

Violent TV will lead us to slaughter each other at the Big A!!--July 15th, 2010 WT
by sd-7 injuly 15th, 2010 wt, page 4, paragraph 9:.
in fact, it could well be that the numerous forms of violent entertainment popular today are conditioning the minds of many for the time when each man's hand "will actually come up against the hand of his companion.

And yet, you have to watch "Saw" and "The Hills Have Eyes" to find things as violently scary and horrible as in the good old R rated Word of God.
If you're freaked by violence and gratuitious sex, don't read anything in the Old Testament especially. Those people were just awful to each other.
Um, I'm confused now...is Jehoobie going to kill everyone or is watching too many violent movies going to take care of that for him?
Dang WTS mags, always giving me brain bleeds.

I've often done "men's work" too, as it paid better. I once worked at a mill where I was the only woman employee, working with 200 men.
The elders were horrified that my dad let me do this, but he did, in spite of my mother having a cow about it. I'm tall, strongly built and was the only woman that applied who knew how to drive a big truck. I've also helped my husband do plumbing work. (In spite of the "strong build" I do not look like a cave woman...and I wear skirts occasionally. LOL) I worked on a sheep and cattle ranch a few summers in my younger days, doing ranch hand chores, milking cows, cleaning stables, delivering lambs, staying up with sick animals all night, driving a team of horses and wagon out to feed cattle, you name it. I was a cowboy, basically.
I like working with tools and materials, and I write stories about cops, samurai warriors and science fiction worlds where I often write male characters. Sadly, until recently, men seemed to be having all the fun in fiction. I don't like being or writing damsels in distress, sorry.
I don't have any sisters, one brother and no female cousins on one side of my family. I pretty much grew up in the testosterone sea, so I enjoy the company of men. It was women I had to learn to be around more, actually. I was relieved to find out that they're all not as nutty as my mother. *G*
My dad never did fall for that JW crap about women can't do certain things. But, he's always had problems with the JW stuff. I keep hoping one day he'll just fade the rest of the way out and tell my crazy cakes mother to stuff it.
Yes, I'm still female and I like it, but not when someone tells me I can't do something without a doily on my head. *scoffs*
It was awful being smarter than some men and not being able to tell them, nicely, that they were being stupid. I hate that. I've been a substitute teacher and believe me, it's wrong for someone to go on thinking they're right without being corrected. Probably one of the worst things in the world is to be a smart and talented woman in a moronic subculture/cult where it's not valued, and actually a handicap. It's frustrating to the point of insanity.

I forgot South Park and Family Guy for when I really want to laugh.
I keep hoping they'll do a JW episode on South Park although they've sent them up a few times.

CANCER and spankin' de monkey...
by ninecharger ini read a report in a science mag recently,.
it said that males who ejaculated more than six times a week in their teens to late 20s were less likely to get prostate cancer.
godalmighty - does this mean that being good boys now puts us at risk??.

I've had a urologist say that he recommends lots of sex (of any sort) to men with prostate issues. It helps relieve swelling and enlargement that happens as you get older.
In other words, if you don't use it, you might lose it.

My husband is a bit behind me in "the fade" although he is coming along. He has a bit more fear of the Witnesses disapproval than I do, but only in some ways.
He just basically doesn't want to be hassled by them, mostly because he's afraid he'll choke someone if they start in.
He was a bit concerned that I was coming on so strong about my not believing WTS doctrine anymore, but I just kept dropping tiny little crumbs of nformation on him.
He was also concerned at first about me talking to "apostates" at first, but he knows now that everyone here is just like us, pretty much, more or less. Some more out there and outspoken, but mostly they just want to be out of it.
He said to me recently, "If the Witnesses can't take criticism of their beliefs, then it's BS. If something is true, it'll stand up to even harsh criticism."
He's right. If God is really protecting them, he'll protect them from us, if we're so terribly evil.
