i posted the comment below on another thread on elders stepping down.

although i left the jw's years ago, i still hold a fascination for the evolution of the religion and am curious on what future trends and developments may occur.

so i thought i would start a thread on what future changes you think will occur in the organisation as the years go by, either doctrinally or organisationally:.

Steve, Steve, Steve, have you fallen in the popular trap that most of Christianity believes. That fulfillment of bible prophecy will be published in mainstream media because it is so self evident. Ignoring what Jesus Christ said about staying awake because he is coming as a theif in the night.

If you are still waiting for all those prophecies I mentioned above to come true, its too late!

Almost ALL of what Jesus Christ said would happen has already happened while billions of Christians are still sleeping.

Wake up!

There's no arguing with "faith".

It's no longer faith.

It is now a conviction.

There is a difference.

I no longer need faith because what Jesus Christ said would happen is REALLY HAPPENING!

Faith in what he said is no longer necessary.

Thanks but I would rather stick pins in my eyes than spend another hour of my life listening to somebody trying to prove that Jesus said anything prophetic.

It's all confirmation bias.

Your role is very necessary for the proper fulfillment of bible prophecy.

If you and others like you were rare then I would have doubts myself.

You have helped a great deal in cementing my convictions.

Ablebodiedman - It's an insignificant little cult that was nothing more than a sect of 19th century Protestant Millennialism.

If you believe that it is an insignificant little cult then you will have to wait until yet another Christian Denomination fulfills ALL the bible scriptures in such an extraordinarily profound way as the Watchtower Society has fulfilled them.

I am convinced the future of the Watchtower Society is prophetic.

The Governing Body is The man of lawlessness.

Which means that they have access to and have violated THE temple of God.

God's spirit directed Organization is the Wild Beast.

All Jehovah's Witnesses in good standing have the mark of the beast.

There really are bonafide "anointed Christians" being gathered by the Watchtower Society.

They are the "fornicating kings" mentioned in both Revelation and Ezekiel.

They are also the "kings of the earth" being gathered to Armageddon.

The same "kings of the earth" who will weep and beat themselves in greif when Babylon The Great is desolated.

Babylon The Great is the last iteration of Christianity. It is a city which now contains around 7 million Jehovah's Witnesses.

Having these convictions it is therefore not very difficult to anticpate the future of the Watchtower Society.

Lying to children

zac's first tooth just fell out, and so people are telling him that the tooth fairy will come with money.

zac asked me if the tooth fairy is real.

i am at a loss as to what to say.

You are asking a very good question.

My parents were no JWs.

I remember while very young and being told in a school playground that Santa Claus was not real and that he did not bring the presents at Christmas.

I insisted that he was real (after all that is what my parents had told me) and almost got into fisticuffs when two other children insisted that he was not real and that I was stupid for believing it.

I got home and was very upset.

Confronted my parents with the situation and was gently and carefully informed by them that the other kids (who I almost punched out ) were right!

Santa Claus was not real!

A hard lesson to learn.

My own parents were liars and could not be trusted!

They had used and abused my young niavete causing a great deal of humiliation.

Any future attempt by them to acuse or reprimand myself about lying, now had little or no impact.

I learned what hypocrisy was even before I found out that there is word for it.

I came to the conclusion that everybody was lying to me.

After even the teachers in school never attempted to explain that Santa Claus was not real!

They played the same game that my parents played.

and

So began my very long and difficult journey to find the real truth.

You would think it should be easy.

i remember back when i was very active among the jehovah's witnesses, the watchtower society recommended a special procedure they used to do to put pressure upon bible studies of jehovah's witnesses by doing something they called: "directing attention to the organization.

Are you certain they are sincere?

I could agree with you that they HAVE been misled.

and

That misled persons do not believe they are misled.

But hey, I have tried very hard to explain to Jehovah's Witnesses why their Governing Body IS the man of lawlessness.

I wrote a very comprehensive letter and mailed it to each and everyone in my congregation.

If they had read the letter there should be no doubt in their minds that they have been misled.

So either they now know they are being misled and yet continue to be Jehovah's Witnesses (in which case they are not sincere)

or

They threw away the letter and did not read it.

I was disfellowshipped for sending this letter.

2nd Thessalonians goes on to say that these people will perish.

I am convinced that it is what Jesus Christ meant when he said; "and they took no note".

w85 6/1 p. 30 Subjecting Ourselves to Jehovah by Dedication

The first question is:

On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?

The second is:

Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?

Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism.

The beauty of obeying what Jesus Christ said in Luke Chapter 21 is that you can now very confidently respond by saying;

I am loyal to Jesus Christ!
