instead of saying, "the society teaches," many witnesses prefer to use such expressions as, "the bible says" or, "i understand the bible to teach.

Compare to this Watchtower statement:

Compare to this bible scripture:

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men [an organization], a man, Christ Jesus,

Theocratic Lurker spies

i have read a few threads that speak of lurking spies for the jw that watch this website.

is this true?

i really don't have a problem with that, but to me it appears entirely sacreligious from what they preach.

The Internet Wilderness is a great way to find the real truth!

When I first plugged my computer into the DSL modem I felt like I had the wings of an eagle and could fly up high and see everything happening around the entire world.

I can think of no other technology on this whole earth that has facilitated this in such a profound way.

Yes, the elders at the Kindom Hall spent many hours on the platform trying to restrain me but I eventually got away into this wilderness.

There are truths to be found on the WWW that continue to swallow up the river of lies being published by the WTBTS.

If I had stayed in the Kingdom Hall any longer the river of lies might have just carried me away.

I am free to find the truth and got away from all the things acting as a restraint.

Now that I am away from his face I can see how spectacular Satan's Unrighteous Deception has really been!

Revelation 12

Is the Downfall of Jehovah's Witnesses More Important Then You?

This isn't the point of this thread, so I will say my peace and leave it at that, but what good does it do to quote scripture to those who have found it isn't reliable? You might as well be quoting the Koran in Arabic as far as I am concerned.....

Let me try again.

I think the downfall of the Jehovah's Witnesses will fulfill bible prophecy. Including the one I quoted above. Also think the fulfillment of bible prophecy is more important than me.

So therefore I must also think the downfall of the Jehovah's Witnesses IS more important than me. (the point of your thread)

My post above inferred this but I guess you missed the point. I realise that many who become Ex-JWs also become atheists and therefore now choose to disdain of the bible. They at one time however, must have had some kind of appreciation for the bible in order to become a Jehovah's Witness in the first place.

There are also some EX-JWs including myself who see the JW's fulfillling bible prophecy in a spectacular way. Instead of disdaining the bible they now have more appreciation for it than the rank and file Jehovah's Witness could hope to have.

Some EX-JWs don't all fit into the neat little cubby hole of continuing their lives as if they were never touched by the Jehovah's Witnesses in the first place.

If you did get the point of my explanation above then you might see why there are some EXJW's who see this circumstance as a better alternative to getting on with their lives like nothing happened after their exit from the JW organization.

There are many other bible prophecies which some EXJW's see the JW's fullfilling and some consensus does exist amoung them.

I doubt that you may be interested in pursuing this idea due to your newly found disdain for the bible however, your audience may not all concur.

I feel the need to keep telling Jehovah's Witnesses how corrupt, unjust, dishonest and oppressive their Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is.

I know they probably will not listen to me.

Thing is if you don't keep telling them then the scriptures cannot be fulfilled.

They desperately need to know the truth about the oppression and corruption however, if you don't tell them then how will they have a chance not to listen.

Zephaniah 3

1 Woe to her that is rebelling and polluting herself, the oppressive city! 2 She did not listen to a voice; she did not accept discipline. In Jehovah she did not trust. To her God she did not draw near. 3 Her princes in the midst of her were roaring lions. Her judges were evening wolves that did not gnaw [bones] till the morning. 4 Her prophets were insolent, were men of treachery. Her priests themselves profaned what was holy; they did violence to [the] law. 5 Jehovah was righteous in the midst of her; he would do no unrighteousness. Morning by morning he kept giving his own judicial decision. At daylight it did not prove lacking. But the unrighteous one was knowing no shame.

a disfellowshipped friend of mine was recently kindly informed about this by her jw mother , i presume they are meant to eat the billions od dead bodies , as my friend is a big lady she informed her mother they would get a good feed off her!!!

i actually think saying that to your child is a form of child abuse no matter how old they are and think it so sad that small children would be sat at meetings listening to that information and feeling so scared , i wonder if that information is actually accurate and where it comes from , does anyone know ?.

Your take on Genesis 3:15?

in the latest new yorker magazine they cover r. crumb's newest work, an illustrated version of "the book of genesis" it's in comic book style.

i was a little put off by some of the pictures, but he brings up some interesting points.. one of which, "..... it would be crazy to try to find any spiritual meaning in genesis: "it's much too primitive.".

sure enough, in one of his pictures he quotes genesis 3:15 and it dawns on me, is it just talking about the future of snakes' and mankind's relationship and nothing else?.
