Yep, the Jehovah's Witness baptism includes a vow to God's Spirit Directed Organization.

So what is God's Spirit Directed Organization?

jv chap. 9 p. 109 Jehovah’s Word Keeps Moving Speedily (1976-1992)

On December 4, 1975, the Governing Body had unanimously approved one of the most significant organizational readjustments in the modern-day history of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Starting January 1, 1976, all the activities of the Watch Tower Society and of the congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses around the earth had been brought under the supervision of six administrative committees of the Governing Body. In harmony with that arrangement, on February 1, 1976, changes had been put into effect in all branch offices of the Society around the earth. After the committees had been operating for some months, the Governing Body observed: "It has proved beneficial to have a number of brothers taking counsel together to consider the interests of the Kingdom work.

Keep in mind that you are making a vow to; "a number of brothers" ..................... a man's number!

Your baptism is not considered valid until the last part of your body goes under the water.

So what is the last part to go under?

The forehead, or the hand?

Theists, why does God allow suffering..

..specifically, the suffering of animals.

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

How do you explain why God allowed countless animals to suffer before humans even existed, before mankinds rulership began? At that point, surely, it was all under God's rule?

What makes you think there was suffering?

Things were good when God first created the animals:

Genesis 1:24-25

And God went on to say: "Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind." And it came to be so. 25 　And God proceeded to make the wild beast of the earth according to its kind and the domestic animal according to its kind and every moving animal of the ground according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good.

"If you see suffering it is because of the futility of a rulership that has become seperated from God."

The whole creation is suffering under the futility of allowing the most intelligent men to decide what they think is the right thing to do.

God is "allowing" this to happen so you can measure its value.

You can see the futility!

You can look around the world and see for yourself the cumulative value of all those decisions that the most intelligent men are making.

and yes, those decisions greatly effect the animals.

Eventually those men will be replaced by; "the sons of God".

What you now see happening in this world measures the value of what the most intelligent men think is the right thing to do.

God is "allowing" the entire earth to be subject to its own rulership.

God is "allowing" men to rule themselves and his creation.

If you see suffering it is because of the futility of a rulership that has become seperated from God.

If you don't like the suffering that you are presently seeing then ask God to come back and be very prepared to do exactly what he tells you.

If you think there is a better way than obeying God then expect suffering to continue.

i did a behind the scenes & launch party shoot for british fashion designer elizabeth emanuel's new luxury women's blouse collection a couple of days ago.

for those that are not familiar with her she is the 'emanuel' that designed probably the most famous wedding dress in history for the late princess diana.

she is a wonderful sweet lady and i do all her events and fashion shows.

The problems Bible believers have with Atheists is the burden of proof is on the Believer and we just do not have enough proof.

i recently posted a post telling this board my athesit coworker stumped me with questions about the validity of the ark story and i just cannot stop talking to her.

i love hearing her side and point of view which in the past i would have dismissed as "satanic" thinking.

she has some very good questions and i am having a hard time answering them.

I do not know how men come to the idea there is no "evidence" of intelligent design and purpose in this universe.

Me neither.

The amount of evidence is overwhelming!

It can only be denied through ignorance or ridicule.

The burden of proof has been well taken care of.

In fact its not a burden except for the athiest who rather imagine the proof does not exist.

Its not the amount of evidence that keeps them in denial, ........ its something else.

I do not need scientific evidence to prove there is a creator.

The fact that everything Jesus Christ said would happen is really happening is enough evidence for me.

The amount of evidence is so overwhelming that any thought of skepticism is driven beyond reasonable limits.
