Palm you work in health care? When did they start saying fraction of blood? and is a fraction still blood? Perhaps they use the term for JWs. I wonder if your doctor goes around telling his patients that they can use a fraction of blood, or is it just certain people like JWs. :-)

my best friend was on the blood committee for years and i could see many cases where either blood wouldn't have saved the person anyways (like when a person is in a serious car accident and their liver is in pieces), or blood actually killed the person and/or hindered recovery.. then my little nephew got leukemia.

If enough doctors see that fractions for leukemia worked better than whole blood, they will change...
Here we go fraction vs. whole blood! A fraction is still a partical of blood!
I think you need to start with scriptures to see the twist and turns: who is going to drink blood! and who is going to do what the nations did and that is mix blood with what ever and drink it as a drink in front of false gods alters! It is like eating meats sacrificed to idols and blood! I am not going to drink sacrificed blood are you? Are you go to sit around the alter in front of some statue toasting!

2010 got scared today! OLD AGE! Born in 1972 realized I may only live to 2050!

Hey, if I see you in heaven I will give you some of my manna, hell I will let you sit on my flame for awhile, and earth you can have some of my figs and dirink with me from healing waters, on the moon I will let you use my moon pole and we can draw big human faces or buildings, so earth will know there is life on the moon! Who know what every God has instore for us it will be so wonderful I can not even imagine!
On the flip side, getting old sucks no matter what anyone says! You do not want to go there until you time! Just prepare for your retirement now.

Sounds like you are on to something! After the original leaders die and many generation later! Have you came across any articles regarding the original Founders that in order to belong to secret societies they need to write something! One does not need to make any sense of the writings as long as they write it! They could start a new religion or anything they wanted! They must write something in order to climb up the secret societies ladder! And, if they get a bunch of people following the message that is even better! So is the case with many religions but only a few of them would write something that is so off the wall you wonder what does it mean! Some of it so crazy that the member just thought it to be Divine Light! The truth of the matter it does not have to mean anything or be even truth! People can believe what you write even though it is just garbage!
Now it should make you wonder every time you pick up an article written by some religion and it making a lot of money! If what they write does not make any common sense! It probably is someone climbing the secret societies ladder! You know the ones only other top members know who each other are, because their names are not written in the lodges as members!
So with time these religions become so powerful and big and the founder who was just climbing the secret societies ladder is dead! Now who really is in charge! The secret societies do not care! because they just gained another person who did what they told them to do! In returned went out and had other believing in what they wrote, and had their members believe and do what is written! And here we are!
It still sets me back a little, that the wanna be secret society founders did not believe anything they wrote, knew it was just garbage,had to convince people otherwise to be come famous! It really did not matter for already higher up group of the secret societies who made sure the rules were followed, because they could care less if a person writings was a success or not! It did not even have to make any sense! Now you have religions that people just wonder who is who but cant find out! Nor does it matter because the religions thrives and some of the writings survived onger than the founders original goals! Otherwise, the crazy writings keep on going and are made into enclyopedias, CD, many off shoot books! it just changed throughtout time so it appeals to new readers! But sometimes you pick up an article and their is a sentence here and there that really does not match the topic or makes any sense! Now, you know why!
Some of these founders came from wealthy families to begin with and had their family members money to back up their writings and printing press! Most family members were members of these societies and would want a family member to become famous in any business! Also, some wrote in different countries under pseudo names! Now who really is the author of what!

Yadda Yadda is right! Also, If a family member confesses the sins of another family member, the elders are to pray for the sinner so God could hear their prayers and through that the sinner could gain everlasting life! The person who went to confess another person sin would recieved prayers from the elders!, anointing of the head, and would go home feeling at peace with God! Not worried if the loved one was going to get kicked out!
They apply only Paul's letters to the Corinthian congregation and not any other letters! Just put the wicked man out! But if the wicked man was not a repenting of sleeping with his probably dead or not dead Father's wife? It ooks like to me that the congregation is still to forgive the sinner so he will not get swallowed up in sorrow! Anyhow, if it still says that they should forgive the person unless they be swallowed up with sorry. Also, it is clear that Christ forgives Paul( leader or elder), and Paul should forgive the congregation and the congregation the wicked sinner!
What if the sinner was already in sorrow and did not feel that he wanted to go back to the congregation! At this point I belive that the lesson really was on the congregation to learn to forgive and not so much on the sinner! During Paul's time, I wonder what would had happened if the person became swollowed up in grief and he did not become a Christian again!
If you applied Paul's letter in 2 Corithians to the Kingdom Hall and the elders, Who would be at fault if the sinner becomes swallowed up in sorrow and was handed over to Satan! How could Christ forgive the congregation if they neglected to forgive the person who they continued to hand over to Satan!
It is like the people do not want to take responsibilty for their actions toward sinners! As if nothing will happen to the congregation if they do not forgive and if forgiving is delayed for six months or a year later, no big deal the elders will work it out! When in fact Paul cried to the congregation regarding the matter. It almost appears that members of the congregation would have to deal with the matter on a personal bases to forgive and not as a group. Also to go out and find the person and associate with the person again! Just the opposite of what the JC teach and do!

Jury, err, Judicial Committee Nullification

i made myself a promise that i was done serving on jcs roughly 2 years ago.
and, with the exception of a rubber stamp reinstatement charade, i've kept that promise.

Here is what I think you should do! Use bible proof against the other two elders to sway them to forgive a person instead of the use of private reproof or public reproof. Why not pray for the person and let them go let them feel true love and that they are fogiven. After all when a person comes to you and they say they are sorry and confess a sin that should be good enough in God's eyes! Why drag a person through the mud if they confess sins! Let them go in peace and tell them that they need a bible study and to stay around people who can help them. Hope that helps you! Sometimes I think the Catholics got this one thing right with the exception of crimes against children and humans!

Tell us about the offbeat people you have had in your congregation
by BonaFide inwe had a brother once in my sisters' hall who would preach downtown with old watchtowers and awakes, i mean like 15 year old magazines, and he would sell them above cost.
even after the donation system went info effect, he would still sell them.
the elders tried to talk to him about it, but he could never really have a normal conversation.

Seriously, don't all of you think that JWs have more than their share of weird, offbeat people? They seem to be attracted to something in the WBTS. Don't you see it now that you're out?
I sure do see it! I think the mentally ill are attracted to the hope that God is going to come back and cure them! Pioneers get them going door to door. I just think that family members should be the ones to take them to their own chruch not strangers! Anyhow, I remember brother and sister blamed demons for everything! Static on the phone it was demons! it was strange! Bring home the wrong book it would bring demons into the house! People believe that demons could come in your house because of a book! Now how nuts is that one! I wonder if their is a WT that says that!
