Thanks everyone for the inputs, some are very insightful. Glad to have this vibrant community expressing ideas, a mine filed of intellectual ideas.
For me, Dr. Hans, was not rationale, was quite ignorant in his comments on the awake publications. His generalizations about evolution lacking rigorous scientific proof is outright false, as this theory has been contiously been studied & confirmed for almost 200 yrs with abundant data from different scienctific disciplines, ie. Paleobiology, geology, organic chemistry, Ecology, genetics, and molecular biology. All of these disciplines agree about the fundamental occurence of evolution ( although at times the details on processes are being argued and are being updated).
His reference that evolution as a mindless process is for me is only partially true as the evolution of successful traits came from the need to survive & propagate and some element of luck brought about from nature as being an open system.

Hello gents and ladies. whats your take on this article on Jan 2014 awake?
Did your view of evolution change?
I gradually realized that the various theories of evolution lacked rigorous scientific proof. In fact, they are basically stories invented to explain how the remarkable designs found within living things, such as the immune system, could originate in a mindless manner. The more I studied the immune system, the more I realized just how complex and effective it is. Thus, my research led me to conclude that life is a product of an intelligent Creator.

Just finished Terry's book, "I Wept by the Rivers of Babylon"...
by tenyearsafter incongratulations terry on a great read!.
if you have not read terry's book, i would definitely recommend you give it a look.
terry is a great writer, and he bravely explores a chapter of his life that many current and ex-jw's won't even relate to...facing the draft as a conscientious objector (co) jw.

Guys have you seen this?
Funny, Stephen C. Meyer is an advocate of Theistic Evolution and gets cherry pick quoted again by our creationist agenda. He believes that DNA at the beginning was designed before the evolution of species started. He termed this design as "front-loaded at the beginning". http://www.youtube.com/ watch?feature=endscreen&NR= 1&v=aiNgGQQkhJw
The biggest problem i have with intelligent design (ID) is the infinite regresses it can create. Since it posits & require that the information of the DNA must have been "programed" by an intelligent designer, who then designed the Designer (who's more complex than a DNA), and who created the designer that designed the designer?∞
Meyer says in his book Signature in the Cell, “intelligent agents produce, generate, and transmit information all the time.”Yet he presents no evidence whatsoever that “intelligent agents” existed at the time that DNA came into existence, no evidence whatsoever that even if they did exist, that they had the requisite technology, and NO EXPLANATION WHATSOEVER of how it supposedly happened, this is not “a legitimate possibility” and is completely implausible. In the end this has to do with whether ID can stand up to the peer review process, make predictions, provide evidence for its claims, and for the gathering of that evidence to be repeated successfully, ideally by others, and must be useful in applied sciences. This is about practical science.
It also looks that this man is quite dubious in some of his practices: http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Stephen_C._Meyer -

Hello guys,
I've trying to search out the critical review of the book Life-how did it get here? by evolution or creation? by Mario Di Maggio, but i could no longer find it in the net. Even the qoutes and links on wikipedia are gone, perhaps due to an update. still it will be great to have that critical review in hand. I also tried to check the original site:http://www.dimaggio.org/Heretic/critical.htm but it seems the site is not loading, perhaps even down.
That review was quite important for me since i was able to subtly influence a Judge who was attending the KH and studying with a brother to stop any involvement in the org right now. He simply halted to show any hint of interest due to this critical review i gave him. I definitely know this because after a month of being absent from the KH an elder tried to visit him again to ascertain his reasons why he wasnt able to attend and all he replied was that he gave the paper to the elder to check it out. The elder was quite startled. butLater the elder was trying to figure out who gave it to him, perhaps trying to trace who might be the culprit. He ask me if i was the one who gave it, and i said yes. i was waiting for any "diciplinary actions" from them but it did not yet come. Now im planning to give a copy to another elder who might be open minded and let him see the "two sides" of the book.
However, i could no longer find it in the net. If any of you here have any links to this material i am extremely greatefull if you can share it with me. thank you.

WTS, Faithful Slave or Evil Slave?
by mindmelda indoes the wts fit the description of the evil slave in jesus parable?.
i'd like to see everyone that cares to discuss that.
sometimes when i read that parable, it occurs to me that maybe it's the wts that better fits the description of the evil slave, the one who beat his brothers, abused them.

i find this phrase more appropriate to the JW religion i've grown up:
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."
