  Hello gents and ladies. whats your take on this article on Jan 2014 awake?

  Did your view of evolution change?

  I gradually realized that the various theories of evolution lacked rigorous scientific proof. In fact, they are basically stories invented to explain how the remarkable designs found within living things, such as the immune system, could originate in a mindless manner. The more I studied the immune system, the more I realized just how complex and effective it is. Thus, my research led me to conclude that life is a product of an intelligent Creator.

  I would love to be able to talk openly and frankly to the various scientists that the Awake has featured in these articles. I wonder if they have reservations about anything or if they truely think that science fully supports the creation account as presented by Witnesses.

  Ultimately it's up to each individual to look at the evidence and make a call about what they wish to accept.

  I talked to one geologist who is mentioned in the awake about creation a few years ago. He is an elder too.

  I asked him that I find it hard to believe in a global flood and if there are some geological signs or proofs for a global flood. He said he asks himself the same questions because there is no geological evidence for a global flood 2400 bc. So he tends to believe it was a local flood.

  The bible does not speak against a local flood. The hebrew word for 'earth' means actually land (the people of that time did not think of a round blue planet when they thought about earth), the hebrew word for 'mountains' can also mean 'hills'.

  Scientists Pitman and Ryan proved that the black sea was flooded about 7000 years ago. Flood myths could have started when the ice caps of the ice age melted.

  I was also interested in the idea that the world is older than the WTS says, if you accept carbon dating and stuff. Another good discussion to be had. Also, why did we have dinosaurs and why did they die out???

  Perhaps Dr. Hans Kristian Kotlar should have study evolutionary biology more because part of the evolutionary

  process involves creating an immune system within the survival reproduction.

  Daniel--but doesnt the scripture bring out after the flood God gave us a rainbow to show there would never be a flood like that ever again that he would use to cause such destruction? if earth means land, and its just a local flood wouldnt that be a lie? There have been hundreds of local floods since then...we would have to see whether there has been any in that area since that time but there are plenty more floods that caused just as much destruction and death as a local flood....

  More likely that part is the lie. The laws of refraction did not change after 2400 B.C. Rainbows have been around as long as there have been sunlight and water droplets.

  Microbes sneak in through our breath, our food, our urogenital tract, or breaks in our skin... The power and sophistication of our immune system points to a wise and loving Creator.

  How can microbes that lead to immeasurable suffering and death be evidence of a wise and loving creator?

  Viruses have evolved all sorts of ingenius devices to invade our bodies and evade our immune system. Retroviruses like HIV are a good example.

  Well... he may believe in a creator alright (so do I) but not in an eminent creator (like theists). There is nothing wrong with the intelligent design theorie but as soon as bibles and qurans come into place it creates problems.
