Original Carl Oof Johnsson Correspondence with Governing Body

there was a thread recently where someone said they were helped a lot by seeing letters to and forth between active jws and the bethel.. with that in mind we've put the correspondence between co johnsson and brooklyn on freeminds as downloadable pdf's.

these are available elsewhere on the internet but this might help newbies to find them a bit more easily.. johnsson letters to bethel and their replies.

also as a reminder mary's project is also available for download - all 154 pages :-) :.

The position of the GB sometimes remind me of the scene with Hitler in "Der Untergang" where he initiates project "volkersturm" (throwing the last civilian under the soviet warmachine in a last attempt to delay the loss for just days or hours) and rationalize it by saying (paraphrasing off the top of my head) "the people has elected me and this course so now they have to follow it through. they has to face the consequences of their actions". I really wonder how they feel, writing about giving the organization power, when they full damn well know that for all intents and purposes, they ARE the organization, and they might as well say give US power.

does this indicate that god did not mean for man to have reasoning capability?

that one also boiled my noodle. if we didnt know good an evil before the fruit, how the hell was we supposed to know if it was good or evil to eat them, and if so, did god not just ask them of blind fait? strange stuff...

i was visiting a friend that is a witness yesterday.

his mother was preparing for the bookstudy with another sister who is very new.

we are on the chapter about blood this week.

about what psychotic parrot said - in case of arguments like "but blood is also dangerous" bla bla bla, well, as far as my research indicate, it may actually be true that for some illnesses blodless treatment may actually be better. but that is not the point. for certain ilnesses, blood is the only way to go, and this is documented by wts itself in, eg., "children who put god first" which can be found here: http://www.ajwrb.org/

oh, and about aids, i cant find the link right now but you can dig it up yourself. the problem with that stance is that wts allowed fractions that (in some cases) carried hiv and all that nasty stuff, while clearly hinting that by following the blood policy you was protected. the term asshats comes to mind.

Here is a question you can ask: God forbid us to eat blood, and i will accept that transfusion is the same as eating [well, wont actually, but arguing that point is a dead-end]. But dear sister, what is our definition of blood?

one of the things i have read about jehovahs witness that made the greatest impression on me was letters from active, believing, witnesses to bethel.

it is simply heartbreaking to see them state questions in the most humble, sincery and respectfull maner, only to get back "generic" answers which dont offer any guidance and rarely shows that the person responding has even the same knowledge as the person stating the question.

so far i know of 3 such conversations:.

last week during bible highlights, a sister commented on leviticus 19:28 about not having a tattoo.

i also commented, saying that we are not under the law, but the principle should be taken into consideration.. a sister i don't speak with very often called me.

she is in the same congregation as some of my family.

hey - this is a semi-serious question i have asked a witness before but did not get a sattisfying answer.. consider bob.

bob is a total psychopat.

the only thing bob really likes to do is to kill people, so thats what he do all day.. next door to bob lives jill.

hm. so there is really no better attempts from wts at mending this logical hole than a big THOU SHALL NOT KILL and then ignoring the problem??

undercover: but this is satans system of things... 1 year in the new system is, presumeably, much more worth from a life-quality pow than a year here, so missing out on a couple of years here in satans ol' system of things vs. getting a better chance of a shot at life indefinite in the new system, that seems like a good trade..
