badboy: thanks a million! i read the syphilis argument on a website against the ark. i stand corrected! would hate to propegate a bad argument. to all who are interested yaws is a ******* nasty thing, take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaws (warning, nasty picture - but preferable to syphilis, especially when you have to re-populate the world), that appears to be the father of syphilis: http://www.archaeology.org/9701/newsbriefs/syphilis.html (no nasty pictures). So it appears that yaws by some process turned into syphilis... hmm.... a bacteria has only one sex, so there are no latent chromosomes to explain "variation within a kind". that leaves us with two conclusions as to the process:

evolution? oh no! surely not. Noah didnt bring any of THAT on the ark!
a miracle! god sure works in mysterious ways...

ahem. back to the topic. actually i dont have a clue about what the topic means.

what is best evidence against noah's flood?......

keep it simple if possible........i like the ice core samples.........thanks, this was not my big issue but i may be able to use it.......oompa.

About the big bang... i really dont want to distract the discussion further. the evidence that lead most scientist to believe in the big bang is the microwave background and the red shift. ofcourse, i did not see it, like you never saw jesus, but thats not a very good argument for or against anything. you can write me for more information.

Regarding your post - what struck me was this statement: "With both bible readers and those that prefer evolution they are both having to do the same thing. which is fit the evidence to their framework of belief". please consider the following: is that a good way to seek the truth?. I ask you in all honesty. we must agree for a way to seek the truth so we are not distracted by falsehood. How do you, personally, believe one should seek the truth as to not get distracted by false religion, dogmatic scientific ideas, etc? (i mean, which general principles! not a specific belief).

Thats what i really want to ask about, but i feel i should reply the rest of the post as well. Did you read the articles i posted link to earlier? one of them dealt with the ethnological proof for noahs ark. Did you read it? do you plan to?

My original post was about a silly physical argument where i calculated the temperature a water canopy would get if it de-orbited. IF the argument is correct - would you consider it as proof against the water canopy? (not if it would lead you to drop the idea completely, but just if you consider it as a hole in the water canopy theory that the water would be boiling when it reached earth).

As allways, your input is very valuable!

Unloaded on the husband of my wife's study sister last night, how much damage did I do to myself??

well had a really good weekend away from home, but i guess i knew that the respite from the wts would end.

tuesdays are the day my wife has her personal bible study with the sister and she has also had the husband come over on tuesday afternoons so the son can have the pleasure of a bible study (which he loathes, he is a high school junior and has no interest in this stuff).

i get home from work late, after a fairly long day and the guy is still there.

undercover: Thats easy to explain! they build the pyramid beneath the water - after all, the stones would weight more because of the water and be easier to handle. :-) . Its obviously doable - consider this bristlecone pine: http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMQDF. It had more than 4,768 tree rings when it was cut down, so it would have been about 400 years old when the flood hit. by the way, bristlecone pine dont sprout tree rings in about 5% of the years so it would actually be quite a bit older.

B_deserter: do you have any quotes from actual ship-builders about this type of hull? i know there are some pro-flood quotes floating around based on small-scale models, and i would like to see something quantitative on a full-scale ark.

all i have ever head my whole life at meetings is that apostates are full of lies.. about 1 year ago i started checking into the lie.

all i can find is quote's from watchtowers and other books.. .

my question is "what is the lie that apostates are telling?".

even though i didnt have the title of elder, i was still active in my work at bethel and the congregation used me as much as possible.

when the congregation recommended that i once again serve as an elder, one elder raised the objection that that barbara was a low-hour publisher.
