Its a pretty confusing and dificult question, and you *really* need to have your facts traight before you debate it, otherwise you are going to stand with egg on your face. Therefore i would recomment you to read thirdwitness site so you know what you are up against: http://www.thirdwitness.com/UN/www.jehovahsjudgment.co.uk/watchtower-un-ngo/, it is not that they didnt err in becoming an NGO, it is just so you can avoid the typical jw spin.
The best advice i can give you is NOT to rely on what is written on the web, but to read the official documents (you can properly find them in the best of thread). There was also a 100 page document with a lot of details and scans, but i have lost it :-(.
A strange question that continue to haunt me is why they became members. It just seem to stupid. The closest thing to an explanation is that it helped them legally in some countries..

If your friends motivation for putting stuff online is that everyone who benefit from it should personally register and tell him thank you -- i think that is a different culture than what is widespread here. I think most here upload stuff because they fundamentally like to help others and they feel the information in the watchtower should be avaliable for free.
Sure he would mind if the scans he made was made avaliable for general consumption so more could benefit?

possible: Look, i can understand if you are afraid to get in leagal troubles and do not want to post the link. just state so and people can perhaps pm you and get the files.
Perhaps its a poor choice of words on your part, but from what I understand you are telling us that you do not want to provide the links here, because you feel people should register on your forum out of respect for you or whoever uploaded the pdf?

Evolution to be taught in primary school.
by Caedes inabout time.. http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/2009/nov/08/evolution-primary-school-curriculum-education.
.
the schools minister, diana johnson, has confirmed the plans will be included in a blueprint for a new curriculum to be published in the next few weeks.. it follows a letter signed by scientists and science educators calling on the government to make the change after draft versions of the new curriculum failed to mention evolution explicitly.. if only i had been taught evolution at primary school it might have helped me to realise exactly how much rubbish my parents were spouting.. i would love to know how 'faith' schools are going to get round this?.

It's strange that the Society does not accept evolution since their doctrines are constantly evolving!
Hehe, intelligent design it is not.

Question about evolution
by Satanus inthe oldest examples of species have the mostvarietiy in their genetic makeup.
for instance, africa is considered to be the cradle of humanity, because the inhabitants have the most genetic diversity.
my question is, how is this explained.

Right. i think you misunderstand me. Lets say all humans descent from a rather small group of human-like creatures that lived in africa 2 mio. years ago. The variety of that (little) group properly increased as they populated africa.
Now, about 100'000 years ago, a group of the early humans desided to walk away from africa. here is the key observation: That group properly had relatively little variety compared to all humans in africa, since they were a) few b) most of them was family.
In the next 100'000 years, the variety in the little group increase, and depending on a lot of factors the variety in the larger group properly also increase. But despite this we expect to find greater variety in africa simply because the starting conditions 100'000 years ago was the way they were.
If this does not explain your question you got to rephrase it - i think they key to misunderstanding is this statement: "How does a new species come to have the most variations, and then tends to slim down or reduce", as far as i can tell that is just wrong (btw, it is very difficult to define what a 'new species' actually is).
You might like to read up on the mitochondrial eve on eg. wikipedia, then you can see how various quantities related to population migration and genetics are calculated.

SATANUS: I am not a biologist, but i think a possible explanation is that other humans, like asians, descent from a group of africans who immigrated a long time ago, ie. at that time the diversity of asians was limited to whatever diversity was in that group (which was very limited, you can read about the mitochondrial eve to get a feel about what effects limit diversity).
This mean that effects such as genetic drift, etc. has had less time to build up genetic diversity in asians than africans.

by creativhoney in- if you mix all the parts of a meat mixer together in a tumble dryer for all eternity, you wont get a meat mixer.
'ahhh' says everyone, then creation must be true... if you mix all the parts of a human body together in a tumble dryer for all eternity you wont get a human?

the illustration i hate the most is the one about a teacher who has a pupil who think he is better than the teacher; the teacher then let him teach the class so everybody will see the teacher is actually right.
replace 'teacher' with 'surgeon' and the illustration is clearly false.
