  So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?

  it seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.

  i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?

  ... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

  just fine: I am not offended, I just don't get why it is considered funny...

  you could make the same kind of video about men, i.e. take the worst inaccurate stereotypes about men and do each of them like a checklist. So it would be about how a woman finally got promoted at work, didn't get sexually assaulted in the metro, didn't suffer from domestic abuse at home, etc. etc. I don't think that would be very funny either. It would be a video about how men are creep, like this is a video about how women are useless.

  If they were serious about that video, at least have the guy turn on his computer for some porn in the evening, then cut to a video with a big bearded man giving him two thumbs up.

  hello.

  i was wondering if someone could tell me where i might find the example of a young jw standing in front of the class to (boldly) defend creation vs. evolution.. i would like to contrast it with the example from the "bible teach" book about the student challenging the teacher,.

  i believe there was an illustration of a young boy standing up in the classroom for his "beliefs".. thanks..

  yep, I understand it is humor. I just don't think it is very clever or funny humor as it is basically just listing a bunch of inaccurate, negative stereotypes about women. It comes across as forced and humorless to me, as this kind of one-sided political humor often does.

  I don't think it is accidental the only positive contribution he could figure out women made to the world was sandwiches. That idea (that women are useless) was the idea he started out with and then the sketch was built around that point.

  Do you think it is very clever/funny?

  So the joke in the video is that without women, driving would become a pleasure (because women are poor drivers), there would be fewer accidents (because women text while driving), productivity and the DOW would skyrocket (because women make men unproductive and do not contribute to the economy) and the only thing that would happen is that men would have to make sandwiches themselves (because that is all women are good at).

  Yep, no sexism there. Very clever, much funny...

  Kpops post got me thinking about history.

  Perhaps the US civil war was fought over freeing white people from black slavers? Someone ought to look into that.

  Anyway, I am happy Kpop is brave enough to have a conversation about the racism against white people... Why, just today an Indian looking man too the last cucumber at Safeways, thereby depriving me of my favorite ethnic food. I pine for a day where my kind can live in peace.

  Witness 007: Without major diplomatic efforts involving China the NK nuclear program is unstoppable; it is important to emphasize they have nuclear weapons it is just a matter of easier delivery at this point.

  Unfortunately, there is no good military option against NK, which is why the bluster about red lines and first strikes makes little sense. According to current planning (the stuff which is publically accessible; interesting reading BTW), NK would be defeated, mainly because their equipment is old and their stockpile of weapons and fuel is not very deep, but it would be at a very great loss to South Korea.

  On top of that comes two great unknowns. The first is that NK and China are in a military alliance such that hostile action against NK would put the US and China at war legally(!). Nobody knows exactly how that would be interpreted in practice, but it may mean that China would try to ensure NK territorial integrity.

  The second great unknown is that we don't know which political and ethnic assumptions NK act on because it is such a closed country. They may well believe they could win a war, and there is good evidence that they believe the right way to signal strength is through a willingness of escalations. That makes "tough" diplomatic response, especially when it is not thought out and haphazard like what Trump has been doing, dangerous.
