  Whats up with all those crazy people who have begun posting here?

  it seem to me that over the relative little time i have been here there has been a dramatic increase in crazy people, ie.

  people who think they are god, create alternative profiles just to distract, write incoherent bullshit in all-caps, bring up the same tired paranoid rants again and again, etc.

  now i dont doubt that many of these people really need professional help, and perhaps having a lot of people from here doing a mix of rediculing them and trying to convince them to see a doctor will eventually help them, but i feel that its something which distract the focus from those who have something coherent to say, and those who are sincere in asking for help.

  pastor russell was wrong about a lot of things - one could make a really long list from any 10 random pages from the finished mystery.

  Romans 10:13 - got owned in a jw study. need help with greek.

  for reasons i have posted on another topic i have become involved with a study with a rather knowledgeable jw.

  i try to stay clear of the scripture (im an atheist who have never read the bible so i have desided to agree with his interpretation of the scripture for the sake of argument, however to say that when it come to interpretations of the bible, there are also many other ways to think about it, and it require significant research for me to commit to one particular view).

  we talked about how you know jehovahs witness have the truth and ofcourse the conversation went into the usual topics like using the name jehovah (however, it did end where i felt it should, on jesus selection in 1918, more on that on another thread).

  Conversations with bethel

  one of the things i have read about jehovahs witness that made the greatest impression on me was letters from active, believing, witnesses to bethel.

  it is simply heartbreaking to see them state questions in the most humble, sincery and respectfull maner, only to get back "generic" answers which dont offer any guidance and rarely shows that the person responding has even the same knowledge as the person stating the question.

  hey - this is a semi-serious question i have asked a witness before but did not get a sattisfying answer.. consider bob.

  bob is a total psychopat.

  the only thing bob really likes to do is to kill people, so thats what he do all day.. next door to bob lives jill.

  My girl is at the convention in Hamburg, Germany.

  hey people.. before my girlfriend met me, she was asked by a bunch of her friends to go with them to the convention in hamburg.

  its pretty tough on her, being locked up with 26999 jv's to the big barbeque of spiritual food, and all day is about the end of the world plus people from her congregation is giving her a hell of a time for her recent choices in beliefs and men.. the past day she have been quite sad.. now i regret not taking some time of to go with her so i could hold her hand, try to make her phone in ill or just sing christmas carols or whatever demonic tricks it takes to scare away people from her congregation who give her a hard time :-), so i wanted to ask if anyone here are going, have something special to add about what is going on/being said (new tric..

  Apostacy (at least > 10'000!!!) amongst the anointed: a mathematical analysis

  in another thread there was a discussion about weater the amount of anointed (and in particular, the dropoff).

  i have tried to calculate it here.

  these are my assumptions which i very much need someone to check out.. there can be only 144000 which have *died* while they had their heavenly call before armageddon.some of these are allready selected in early christianity.in 1935, all the remaining anointed was selected.

  i have a girlfriend who was born into a jehovas witness family.

  naturally she took up the religion and was eventually babtized when she was 18.

  (she is 21 today).
