A gun was pulled on my mum.
by LouBelle in11 am in the morning, a very busy road, a very busy banks' parking lot.
my mother walked down the stairs to her car and saw a masked man run around her car and come up to her.
he pointed a gun at her chest.

Pedophilia and the WTS 's Irrational Arrogance
by Lee Elder ini am shocked and outraged by the recent actions of the watchtower society to silence child advocates who's only agenda is to stop the rape and molestation of jehovah's witness children and protect them from the known pedophiles operating within the organization.
those in the organization who are responsible for these reprehensible actions must be sanctioned.
i sincerely hope that voting members of the watchtower society will insist on the removal of all corporate directors who support the current policies that harm children and protect pedophiles.

Hi Judyann,
Welcome.
If you think that's bad we were told by the elders that our child's molester had every right to be in the same KH with her while he was out on bail awaiting trial. We of course went and got a stay away order by the courts in order to keep him away.
By the way, he was convicted but never disfellowshipped.
It's really sick how victims and their families are treated within the Org when it comes to this subject and many have been stumbled by it including us

Hi - new kid on th block
by nearlyfree ini have been looking at this website for about 2 months now and feel i am now ready to say hi and intoduce myself.i dont want to give out too much info at this point in time as i still am in the org, but have only been to 2 meetings since the district convention in august and last time i went out on service was in march.
i was basically raised in the truth as my parents became jw when i was 2. i was married in my late teens and after 21 years of being married to a total control freak he left me (yay).
anyway since me ex left, i had been doing a lot of thinking about being a witness, and i wasnt really going to a lot of meetings - just didnt feel like it.

The arguing that goes on in the car between a pre teen and a teen over who's CD were going to listen to. They get punished with Dr. Laura
When the phone rings right as I pick up the fork for my first bite of dinner.
When you start your day stubbing your toe and spilling your coffee. (you know what the rest of the day is going to be like)
Lately when my hubby calls and starts the conversation with "your not going to believe this" (means we landed on an expense card $$)

Are YOU Shunned By Jehovah's Witnesses At All?
by minimus insome witnesses speak to me quite normally/.
others avoid me like the plague.. how are you treated by the witnesses?.
-

Like Minimus I get some that look happy to see me, some not so happy.
We are not disfellowshipped but some do treat us like we are
A few weeks ago we were at back to school night at my sons High School and ran into quite a few JW's. I loved marching up to the ones that are obviously trying to avoid us and speak very loudly, some times hug them or grab their hand and tell them how nice it is to see them...LOL. I love to see the look on some of their faces.
The ones that are decent enough to make eye contact and give us a smile and wave I leave alone
*hands on hips* I'm not that humble little sheep that use to run out and cry because I felt horrible about the way were treated. It feels AWESOME!

Child Molestation and the Two Witness Rule
by garyneal inthis morning, as i was fixing breakfast, my wife and i got on the subject of religion (again) and i apologized to her for some of the things i said yesterday regarding the jehovah's witnesses.. in short, i said that given the way she treated me in regards to keeping me in the dark about certain financial situations, overdrawing her checking account and running up $500 in credit card debt due to her overdrafts that i am surprised the elder and his wife would approve of her activities in light of their teachings.
i said, "when you go to their house and study that book 'keeping yourself in god's love' with them, ask them what they would think of you taking such a nonchalant attitude over how you are managing the household finances and the way you respond to me when i inquire about the situation.
telling me that 'i should not worry' and that 'i am being fed and have a roof over my head' in such a way that i should just be quiet about it and let you be in charge.

"Studies" are allowed to give talks?????
by Joshnaz inmy sister who is a active jw texted me today to let me know that her boyfriend who is "studying" is going to give his first talk a week from this wednesday.
i always thought you had to be a publisher to speak on stage.
oh ya, not to mention he still smokes cigaretts.

Nope, my son wasn't a unbaptized publisher when he was giving talks. My husband just said to put him on the list and they did. Not sure when it changed or if it has but he gave his last talk about a year ago.

by lepermessiah inseinfeld fans - remember the episode where george is so desperate to get fired by the yankees that he does all these things to defy the boss and still keeps his job?.

i havent been to a thursday meeting in weeks, i am getting like 2 hours of field circus a month (just mailing it in while my fade progresses) i dont comment, most people know that i would rather not be there, etc...... so i go last night since it is the co visit, and my wife really wanted me to come.

Funny but when we came out about our child being molested by a fellow JW the very next month my husband was taken off the list. They fired him on the spot I suppose without talking to him or asking if he needed a break. Nothing! After months of trying to figure out what was going on, we took it as a little hint we might have done the wrong thing by going to the police before them.
