  Sports That Do Not Interest You

  one sport that i think is lame is pro hockey.

  it's the only sport where players are expected to beat the crap out of each other.

  it's not as much about scoring but how many punches were thrown!

  hi all, this is my first post.

  but i was one of those kids that was born into the whole jw thing, and like a good little witness kid i did everything i was supposed to do to please my parents (mainly my mom my dad's an unbeliever).

  my mom was very strict with me when it came to everything they taught, no holiday parttys at school, no sports, no worldy friends, i was only supposed to associate with other jw kids (my mom is one of those extremist jws, she says she doesn't judge, but she's a perfect example of one one of those sisters with the holier than thou attitude).

  I think anyone who thinks on their own is considered rebellious by the WTS.

  They like to have control over everything you think and do.

  I hope you stick around, you'll learn alot from many here who love to think on their own

  What is difference between Black Congregations and White Congregations

  I never understood the whole lighter/darker thing. My kids are mixed Hispanic/Black and have beautiful skin tones, but every time we visit in in laws after a nice summer break of sitting by the swimming pool they always have to comment about them being dark, as if it's a bad thing? I personally love when they get nice and dark and miss it in the winter months:)

  as one of the main drivers to us exiting the cult he is very excited about never going to a meeting again.. if i knew how to load pictures i would let you see his plan for christmas lights next year.

  What emotions have you been coping with?

  i wanted to dedicate this posts to just talking about the emotional scars we all have had or maybe still have.

  was there a gap of time between you thinking you didn't want to continue and actually, consciously, deciding to no longer continue as on of jws?

  it's amazing to me the strong hold this religion puts on you.

  Here are the emotions I went through from the moment I found out a much loved ex-elder molested my 9 year old child.

  I went from Anger against him

  To faith that the elders would do the right thing.

  To complete shock at how they questioned my child.

  To frustration nothing was happening.

  To heartbreak once I realized we were on our own.

  To back to being angry about being lied to for 20 + years.

  To acceptance that we were hoodwinked.

  To determination to let everyone know how wronged we were.

  To knowing in order to be healthy again for my family I need to move forward and try my best to make "A new Normal" and no longer let that anger control my life.

  It's been a very interesting and educational 4 years and I'm thrilled to let the JW religion go forever!!!
