VAN NUYS >> A man who was an usher at a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sun Valley pleaded no contest Thursday to sex-related counts involving three boys he met there.
Marcelo Lozano, 34, of Sun Valley, pleaded no contest to two counts of continuous sexual abuse and one count of oral copulation of a person under 14.
He is facing 30 years in state prison when he is sentenced Oct. 8 by Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Leslie Dunn.
Lozano is also expected to be ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life following his release from prison.
Lozano met the boys — who were 8 to 11 at the time — through the Jehovahs Witnesses Sun Valley Spanish Congregation, where he was an usher, according to Deputy District Attorney Rena Durrant.
He was arrested July 29 by the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division and has remained jailed since then.
The crimes happened between Jan. 1, 2006, and June 30, 2013.
Some of the crimes occurred at Lozano’s home in North Hollywood, where he lived at the time, along with other locations, according to the prosecutor. None of the crimes occurred at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Durrant said.

I have been asked to submit work for next year's open studio exhibit
by nugget inmy husband showed some of my work to artists exhibiting in this years open studio event and i have been asked to submit work for next year.
as soon as the children go back to school i will be busy with the isograph pens.
as a witness i gave up my art studies and my dream of fine art because it was not appropriate for a witness.

To answer a few of your questions...
first, NO when we went to the elders about our 9 year old daughter being molested by a brother ( ex elder) we received no help. Instead we were in my opinion victimized yet again.
Later after watching us suffering one elder let us know they were " told to stay away from us." Nice, right? Talk about leaving a wounded family to tend to their wounds alone.
We did have our daughter go to therapy which she really didn't like. We have since been watching her closely for when she's ready to talk to someone again.
Our son is seeing a psychologist and I have been in and out of therapy for the past few years. Yes we are a bit messed up but we are strangely happy at the same time :) Leaving the religion was key! Now it's time to do whatever we need to do to have a new normal!
Just know, you will have your ups and downs but you're stronger then you think. The more you reach out and the more you feel you are doing something to help others the stronger you will get.
