I was so hoping your experience would have ended with you leaving and following your dreams.
It's never too late to start a new normal outside this religion. Have enough love for yourself to live for you.
Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing your very personal story. I wish I could just give you a hug!

need input: why does my wife do this. when at the meeting she is always nodding her head in agreement
by goingthruthemotions inso this is just so nauseating to me when she noddes her head in agreement and in a low voice or sound does a "mmm uh" in agrrement.
but here is the deal, she never aswers at the meetings.
she doesn't go out in service often.

Maybe she's just nods her head a lot? I know I do the same thing and don't even realize I'm doing it. I certainly wasn't doing it for attention, in fact when I would catch myself I got embarrassed :) -

Nice moment today
by Theburstbubble inso it's been a few months since i last went to a meeting but i've still had lots of guilty feelings about leaving, such as am i doing the right thing, thinking about friends and family, where do i go from here etc etc.
but i think once you stop believing you can't go back.. anyway, today i had a very nice experience.
my daughter had been to nursery today and when she got home i asked her what she had done and she excitedly told me they had been doing pumpkins.

That's not a small deal at all :) Imagian the grief you are saving your little one, they will be able to grow up normal and do all the things everyone else is doing. My kids went through school feeling different and have struggled trying to fit in now that we left.
This was the first year they carved a pumpkin and they are 18 & 20. It's never too late!

It's not the same religion anymore.
by punkofnice inthat was a quote from a dyed in the wool jw recently.
it was a complaint.. we all know that with 'new light(tm)' that the watchtower corporation's version of 'religion' has kept changing for a long time.
since i remember.....and i go back a long way too.

It's amazing the crap we put up with... being such humble sheep and all!! The power these men have and love is used to abuse the lowly congregants.
I've heard my husband say many times after we woke up, "if only they would say that crap to me now!!"
I look forward to hearing more of you experience, welcome to the forum.

Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse
by Dissonant15 inall states in the us mandate health care workers and teachers to report suspected child abuse to law enforcement.
this year our commonwealth expanded the law to include clergy, and to include a mandatory two hour training on what to look for and how to report, required for all mandatory reporters.. my coworker at the hospital said she and her husband did the training together, because her husband volunteers in the sunday school at the church, they required him to take it too.
i asked several witnesses when this law came into effect if all the elders and ms are going to be taking the training and everyone looked at me like i was an alien and they had no idea what the heck i was talking about.

In the past they have used the clergy privilege in order to not report. I understand that hasn't been working for them anymore but that doesn't seem to stop them from trying.
