I so agree with Mrs. Jones.
Take care of yourself, get some counseling and let you loving girl know, your doing it to be a better man... because she deserves having all of you complete.
Best wishes seekingsanity.

So true :(
the fact that you were a witness, did it actually "ruin" your life?
?.
I would say at this point... YES.
My child was molested by a fellow JW a few years ago, we were treated poorly by the elders and ignored by most when we needed them most. This lead us to question everything and lead me to the internet.
Not only was the innocence of my child lost by someone we trusted, but we are also losing our faith in a religion who just doesn't want to deal with such ugly truths and have no idea how to help victims and their families (so they do nothing) It's been tough!
My son put it best when he said "one day everything was normal and we were happy and the next day everything was different." Sadly he's right.
grandaughters 4th b-day yesterday.
the place was packed.
pandemonium.
Laugh it up Mrs.Jones, I do. (now)
My daughter is 12 also and never had a birthday party we are recently inactive.
Maybe by 13 we will be out and I can give her a big surprise one at the big CC for memory sake. (she would kill me)

No beer at Chucky Cheese anymore?? That was the only thing, besides the kids smiles that made that place bearable..LOL
Mrs. Jones my mother gave me my 13th birthday there as well. I was so humiliated(drama queen) by the giant mouse singing to me I swore I would never step foot in that place.
Then I had kids

regarding being in the house with someone of opposite sex...thats a conscience thing too, the individual decides yet many claim that if they were seen in the house with someone of opposite sex they could stumble people..i think its them who have the problem, how can someone think the worse and make an accusation!?!?!
they are the ones with the problem and should be counselled, not the ones together.
its up to the individuals, we shouldnt have to take on other people consciences and be worried what others say...jehovah sees all things and at the end of the day we stand before jah's throne on judgment day not sister or brother so and so.
Agree completely Dinah.
My suggestion to them is put some serious issues, like the possibility of you child being molested by that wonderful loving brother in the congregation in the lime light. Let's tackle some serious issues instead of little stuff... like not wearing a jean skirt to the KH or being alone with the opposite sex not to mention the latest no holding hands during prayer.
this is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.
Very sorry to hear

Hi AE,
A friend of mine and fellow JW had to move in with her sister and BIL for a few months and I kid you not she was not allowed to be alone at any time with the BIL. She spend hours at the coffee house or sitting in her car waiting for her sister to come home in order to go into the house. They were so worried what the B/S would think if they were alone. I thought that was really weird, I have no problem with my sister being alone with my husband nor do I care what others may think. To each their own I suppose.
