i wanted to dedicate this posts to just talking about the emotional scars we all have had or maybe still have.
was there a gap of time between you thinking you didn't want to continue and actually, consciously, deciding to no longer continue as on of jws?
it's amazing to me the strong hold this religion puts on you.
Here are the emotions I went through from the moment I found out a much loved ex-elder molested my 9 year old child.
I went from Anger against him
To faith that the elders would do the right thing.
To complete shock at how they questioned my child.
To frustration nothing was happening.
To heartbreak once I realized we were on our own.
To back to being angry about being lied to for 20 + years.
To acceptance that we were hoodwinked.
To determination to let everyone know how wronged we were.
To knowing in order to be healthy again for my family I need to move forward and try my best to make "A new Normal" and no longer let that anger control my life.
It's been a very interesting and educational 4 years and I'm thrilled to let the JW religion go forever!!!
so an elder came to my door the other day in field circus.
i looked through the peephole to see who it was, but the way the door is situated against the sky in the background i couldn't see anything but a silhouette.
not to mention he was standing off to the side so to make it hard for anyone to see who was knocking.. so i open the door thinking it was my friend since he is the only jw that knows where i live.
Yeah Soldier I've heard the same things from my mom.
Thankfully, my daughter knows we choose protecting her at all costs and hopefully she'll be just fine as she grows into a young lady.
I wish you the best and hope them elders just leave you alone!!
last week i told you guys about my father in law who passed away.
he was not a jw.
he merely went to meetings with my brother in law to get out of the house and to go have lunch afterwards.
That was just outright nasty of him!!!

I agree with Flipper.
Somehow people become a bit more sympathetic when they are seeing the other side to those smiling faces themselves.
Sadly for most they prefer to believe victims of the WTS are exaggerating or out right lying when we speak up about how unfairly we are treated in these situations.
I just hope what you said to this elder stays on his mind and he starts questioning, why? Who knows that letter to society and their response just might open his eyes.
I also want to say I'm sorry for him bringing it up once again I know how hard it is to get back on track after they disrupt you, yet again....
It sucks!
social networks have their pros and cons, but overall i really enjoy them.
it lets you peer into the window of the lives of people you care about that live too far away to have a regular relationship with.
you still feel connected.. -sab.
I so agree!! Love Face book.
I reconnect with friends as far back as Jr High and family members I never get to visit.
To me the best thing is all the pictures/videos, I get to see my cousins/friends... babies from the time they come into the to the world to the first tooth and first word!! It's something we would have never had just 10 years ago :)
just read this commentary...http://www.channel3000.com/news/26164542/detail.html.
and thought to myself, i hope it doesn't take me 20 years before i'll be able to get into the holidays .
we are completely inactive at this point and have no intension of going back, however we do have all our immediate family in the org so we still are trying to avoid being disfellowshipped or da... not sure how long that will last, because i want to live my life and not have that hanging over my head forever.. i look at all the beautiful lights and trees and just want to get into it but i know if i dared the jw neighbors would turn us in.

We did do a couple of fun new things this week. I send the teenagers on a scavenger hunt with clues for presents..they loved it! We also let them take a few presents to their friends at school and they came home with some goodies... they looked so happy to be included for a change.
Baby steps...
I hope you all enjoy your Christmas
i was talking to a workmate yesterday about my jw experiance and my daughters abuse , she told me that she works as a counsellor and had been discussing jws with a colleage , this person had given counselling to a jw woman who was a victim of domestic violence by her jw husband , the elders had done nothing to help the woman and simply told her to stop moaning about it !
the counseller was disgusted that in this day and age women are still treated like that !
the jw lady eventually left her husband , took the children with her and got disfellowshipped !!!!
I know of at least 6 people who will never give the JW's the time of day after our situation.
The victim advocate, Judge, Prosecutor, bailiff, court reporter and a couple of neighbors that were shocked to see the molester having more support in the courtroom then the victim! The victim advocate actually told me how back-wards it was from other molestation cases, she was blown away by it!! I'm thankful we at least had her.
Talk about a bad witness...
