I did it !!!!

7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.

i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.

i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

Talked to JW's in Service Today (kinda long...sorry)

i was in my company vehicle and i spotted some jw's going from door to door.. i circled around the block and pulled over.

when they passed, i rolled down the .

window and asked the pleasant looking middle aged couple as they passed, if they were jehovah's .

You did such an amazing job with that couple. I have to admit my eyes watered reading what you shared with them. I'm sure they will have a lot to talk about on their ride home, they may not leave but I truly believe they will deal with their son with much more love!! You did a good thing :)

exjw elder and felony fugative, michael johnson norris, plead guilt today, 2/27/2014, in santa barbara county superior court for sexual molestation of the daughter of brandon joel, under a plea deal norris was sentenced to in state prison, a far cry from the possible 25 years he could have received had the case gone to trial.

the family has full intentions of pursuing a civil litigation against norris and the watchtower society that harbors pedophiles..

Look forward to those write ups. I think it's so important for readers to hear from the victims and their families on how these horrible monsters and those that protect them have effected their lives.

It Looks like this was the first step, now on to a civil lawsuit and then hopefully the family can move forward to a happy peaceful life. I wish them well :)

Happy for the family! I'm glad they got justice, although 3 years is not nearly enough for the crime in my opinion. He should be stuck in cell with a huge mean cellmate for the rest of his life, if you ask me.

I sure hope the family is successful in the civil lawsuit!!

That too bad, I was really hoping this creep would be put away for good! Let's hope the DA gets some help in the higher courts.

I'm guessing a civil suit will probably be in the works as well??

One way or another the GB will eventually have to answer for all the pain they have caused to so many.

WOW!! That's the same crazy stuff my mother told us!! I'm convinced these demonic stories make their rounds and our mothers make them their own!!

I seriously would just cut off any communication with her for now. Block her from your email, facebook anything that will keep her up to date with how you and your children are doing. I guarantee she will come around one day....much more humble.

I learned if I give my mom an audience to preach her beliefs it will never end!! So I made it clear we will not talk religion at all! after a couple months of silence she came around. We of course have very little in common anymore (which is sad) but I know how she is doing and she knows how we are doing. It is what it is.

I want to send a nice note to my sister

it's been about 5 weeks, since my sister sent me the email telling me she no longer wants to communicate with me (at this time).. i was never a jw, so i am not going to agree to those crazy terms.

i explained to her that she can do what she wants, but i will continue to be kind, and that i forgive her cruel treatment toward me.. i have given her some space, and i feel like i am ready to send her another note.

instead of bringing up any hard feelings of today, i was going to share some memories that i have of our early, pre-jw days.

Florida man shoots teen

michael dunn pulled into a convenience store parking lot next to a suv full of teenagers who were playing loud music.

he asked the teens to turn down the music, it is uncertain what words were exchanged at that point.

michael dunn then shot 4 times into the driver's side of the suv.

I remember my younger years full of loud music blasting through huge speakers. It's called being a teenager!! Do I like it now? Of course not, but I certainly wouldn't tell a group of kids to turn down their music in a public parking lot. Why couldn't this person just roll up his window? Maybe because he was drunk and looking for trouble. What did they stop at this store for? A bottle of wine and some chips.

I will never visit Florida!! Too many stand your ground freaks carrying guns.
