we have purchased a bunch of great books recently, and one of them is from author kyria abrahams called "i'm perfect, you're doomed".

i'm only 5 chapters in at this stage, but i just have to share that this is a great read!.

Any updates on the org's $4000 per day fine?

I'm so with you on this subject because I have been there and I know how horrible it is.

I remember going rounds with posters on another forum just hoping they would understand just how horrible the child abuse issue is and how it effects those who have the misfortune of having it touch their lives personally. It was as if I was talking to a wall! My frustration went overboard to the point I started questioning myself. I finally realized I was not arguing or enlightening anyone on that forum they all knew the truth already. There were those who made it their job to try their best to make you feel stupid and unbelievable and then there were the majority of posters that could pretty much finish my sentences, always offering understanding and support.

It took a while but then I realized my voice was better put to use sharing my experience with anyone in the real world that would listen. I know for a fact that not one of my friends or neighbors not to mention my kids friends, workmates, classmates would ever give the JWs a chance!

We all can only do what we can and I truly respect the way you handle yourself against the attacks I see here. Never allow anyone to silence you, you never know who is reading here or how much they may need someone to understand how they feel.

Honest Questions About Child Abuse

i have two honest questions for everyone here.

i understand that most here want retribution from the courts against watchtower for child abuse allegations.

but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.

Totally agree with OrphanCrow.

My 10 year old daughter had to go through that horrible gross questioning by untrained elders dressed in their suits holding a bible and book.

Worse night of our lives! Still can't believe the control we allowed them to have. I still apologize to my daughter for foolishly not standing up and telling them to get out of our home.

Good for you!! Be ready for a long drawn out process, but it feels amazing to stand up to them and force them to listen to you.

by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

I was just looking at the link provided for the court documents and was surprised to see the amount of lawyers the WT is paying to keep these documents hidden! I think I counted 8 lawyers against Zelkin and Story?

I do feel bad for Padron/ Lopez and how ever more fighters against the WT are out there. I know how frustrating it is to hurry up and wait. I just keep in mind it's a marathon and not a race.

I can't tell you how impressed I am by the fight and patience these survivors have and hope they know we are all behind their fight.

Elders harassing me

hi everyone, it has been a while since i've last updated!

(refer to my previous posts for the full story) here is a quick re-cap: 2 months ago my mother found out that i am living with my boyfriend, she told me i was discovered by an "anonymous" tipper who turned me in for "living in sin".. first of all, that is nearly impossible, the congregation i was in is 100's of miles away from where i currently live.. no one would have ever known i was living with my boyfriend unless i told them, which i never did, i cut off all communication with that congregation in part of my attempted fade which was blown into pieces and discovered.. anyways, my mom tells me if i don't go to the elders and confess like a good little sheep, then she is obligated to tell them.. ( don't see why, i don't even live under her roof ) well i never went to them because why should i?

so they met with my mother and she told them i live with my boyfriend... let me remind you, this was two months ago.. i was told i was going to be df'd and that was that.

Just continue to ignore them. It took me awhile to realize that the only power they had over me, was what I gave them. They don't pay your bills or put food on your table so why would you owe them anything?

Move forward and start living you new happy life :)
