  What Don't You Like About Jehovah's Witnesses?

  yup, this is a negative thread.. there are a lot of things but i'll start with one.. jws believe god will destroy 99.9% of the world simply because they aren't witnesses.

  this view produces the "i am better than you" attitude because they get to live forever and you will die forever.

  I don't blame the people.. but as a cult I hate that they look down on others when they are far from perfect, and if they were perfect they would love others not judge! just the 1st thought that came out

  welcome! I don't have older parents in but some of the JW's I care about that are older I couldn't rock there boat.. but if they wanted to know I would tell them if they were ready.. cuz your never too old to start to live. But ya... don't go out of your way.. just my thoughts. and welcome!

  An interesting talk with my father

  a little background before my recap of my conversation.

  my father left my mom and i when i was young, like before i was 5. so i didn't know him other than a couple images i had of him in my head.

  i don't have any bad feelings towards him, even though he cheated on my mom and took 20 years to pay back child-support.

  Paranoia is killing me

  when i have "worldly" friends over i am constantly checking the window every time i hear something that even remotely sounds like a car door.. when i play violent video games i constantly pause the game and look out of the window every time i think i hear a car door.. when i go to the movies to see something rated r i always look around for witnesses.. if i suspect witnesses will show up i "witness-proof" the house.

  i hide 10 out of the 12 x-box games i own.

  erase the history on my desktop, laptop, ipad, and cell phone.

  I went through the same thing. If i did yoga i shut all the blinds... hid all my apostate literature. looking over my shoulder all the time, paranoid that someone would stop by... I do think I got better once I da myself, but i was baptized they have no power over you just live your life and congrates!!!

  ...when my beloved sister will call me and say " hey sis, you were right, i'm also leaving the borg for good!!

  now we can make up for all this lost time and enjoy life together as we should".. i just can't give up thinking that this will come true.. i just miss her too much... and i can't imagine how it must feel for those of you who's lost your children.

  the lowest i've seen in a few weeks in my area is $2.85 unleaded, self serve.. i've seen it 30 cents higher and a popular mobil station just off the highway..

  Has a local needs talk been given about you?

  this was briefly mentioned in one of miseryloveselders threads, but i had the honor of a local needs talk pointed at me.

  shortly before i got married to my "worldly" husband there was a talk about "marrying only in the lord", "do not become unevenly yoked", blah blah blah.. i wasn't shocked that it was given, i was actually waiting to hear about it.

  i was more surprised that they waited until about a month before our wedding day to give it.

  I was told they had a local needs about me and how someone can become non-repentant after they once were repentant... then another one on how the congregation didn't need to encourage weak ones it was the elders responsability... that way everyone could shun me?! oh the love

  not sure why. I DA about a month ago and was relieved at first. Today for some reason it hit me. It's over! Wondering if my brother will ever talk to me again. wondering if he will even find out i DA myself... just a bit lost... I know it will subside it comes and goes. Havent been to the KH in over 2 years so yes I have put in my "healing" time... thanks for this site I know I would have needed to go to a shrink without you all. Peace!
