  How Many Had Chronic fatigue syndrome?

  chronic fatigue syndrome refers to severe, continued tiredness that is not relieved by rest and is not directly caused by other medical conditions.. did you have many congregation members, particularly pioneers, that said they had " chronic fatigue syndrome" ?.

  that's their "get-out-of-jail-free card.

  " they were free to cancel anything at anytime and it was their legitimate reason for not doing anything that didn't involve field recruiting.

  NHS website (UK) says 250,000 in the UK have CFS. So 1 in 250.

  In my hall there are at least 4 self diagnosed/real diagnosed, so 1 in 15/20. Dozens more in the circuit.

  A JW illness indeed.

  Yet the majority all had "good days" when they needed to go on holiday or walk the dogs or go down the benefits office.

  One woman got herself a scheduled list of help so that some dumb schmucks had a rota to cook her and her husband (another crazy) a meal every day. One sister with three kids faithfully turns up with something mid-afternoon to put in the oven for later. Said M.E. sufferer is stood on a stepladder cutting her garden hedges ... "It's one of my good days" she says.

  Well get off your ass, cook a meal and tell the sister not to bother then!

  CO is chasing me . Meeting him tomorrow.

  this week is the "special week", co is back.. he phone called me this morning asking to meet together.. i replied "i don't refuse people who want talking to me, but my condition is that you must be alone, and we meet in public space.".

  he agreed and we will meet tomorrow in a cafe.. .

  this week he already met with my wife in the kh, and he told her "i believe your housband is apostate !!

  It is very rare for a CO to meet up with a fader alone; they don't usually like to do their own dirty washing. 2nd witness or not he will undoubtedly ensure you are disfellowshipped if you do tell him how you feel.

  so proclaimed the brother that read the wt letter tonight that explained the new kingdom hall funding arrangement.. everyone in the hall claps .... well, like it was the last talk on the district convention.. he says 'what bank would wipe out a debt of $200,000 ???

  Now in USA and European cities the CO can sell cong A KH (own hall for years not sharing) and tell them to share with cong B and (maybe C)

  Society make $100,000's. Cong A shares a hall with the KH of B (and maybe C)

  Take a city with ten congs in 6 halls. They can make it nine congs in 4 halls, sell two.

  Loadsamoney for Society/a few elders to spread about.

  Elders can't say "it's our hall" so easily - after all "mother" really owns it now and the branch decides what is to be done with it.

  That house at half a million pounds is nothing - a tiny house in West London costs that any day. Just one of the JW 4 bed bethel dormitory detached houses in Mill Hill would fetch over a million.

  North Wales is stunning and the views are spectacular; but it rains there like it does in Ireland. The weather can be pretty miserable and the wind and rain will lash around that house much of the time. Sure it will be nice in summer some days but it will be unusual to top 75F and often a wet 60/65F at best.

  From a business point of view they've got a lot of property for their money and it sits right in centre of the most Welsh-speaking part of Wales. I guess the big wigs will holiday up there on the pretext it's a "speshul vizzit" - being 250 miles from the UK branch "ice-box" will be nice.

  Supporting the Welsh language is a waste of UK resources and as mentioned above if I lived there and had kids I would rather my child learned a major language instead.

  Loads of branches have closed. This means service departments in the big branches cater for more traffic. Just like pioneers aren't overseen by the branch anymore- as in sending in reports etc. - nor will e&ms appointments be. Takes away the workload and means the org can:

  1. Take useful branch service dept members and put them on profitable building projects, pedo defence and money related activity.

  2. Take useless branch service dept members and kick 'em to the curb or send them off to East Nyack as a special pioneer.

  CO's can access WT megacorp's database of pedo's, weirdo's and face-doesn't- fit-o's before appointing and can be the fella the buck stops at for deleting.

  just to share a little about me:.

  i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .

  makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

  ATJeff's post is his personal experience relayed for us.

  It has the ring of truth about it. It feels right. It chimes with my own experience as a one time small fry congregation elder and born-in.

  As a kid and teenager it was all "type and antitype" as crazy freddie franz's drivel and 1975/generation that saw 1914 with understanding/born in 1914 etc. kept me at the behest of my parent in a kingdom hall every Sunday and in some ones private home on a hard chair on a Tuesday evening.

  If only I had seen the inner workings and woken up sooner!

  faders need a secret sign to use at the khall.

  the thought came to me after reading replies to datadogs post on stopping singing at the meetings.. i can suggest a few secret signs for faders to use and to look for at the khall, but it would be better that current meeting attenders make suggestions here.

  if readers on this site can agree to a secret sign to use at the meetings, just imagine the power that would have at your kingdom hall.
