  Think of all those sat there at that section of the convention. At least some will have watched the ARC. At least some will have experienced the dead hand of a poor child abuse handling. More will have a relative that they are shunning or they are being shunned by. Others know of bethelites being laid off.

  It will make those that are quietly thinking actually think. Most of those around him will be servants or elders.

  If I personally had been sat there, all quiet and bored I would have had to fight the impulse to get up, shake his hand then put my arm round his shoulder and say "Do you think we can find a better way to get through to these people?"

  i just got off the telephone with scott boer, vicki boer's husband and before that vicki.

  her honour, justice anne molloy, has just ruled on the legal cost issue in the boer case.

  I bet the WT top-dogs were "high-fiving" after this case. I bet they aren't any more.

  Well done to this woman for standing up to GBcorp - maybe one day her name will be up there with Candace Conti and the ARC as stepping stones to the demise of their awful "Image first, children last" policies.

  no icelanders under the age of 25 believe the creation story that god was responsible for creating the universe, a new poll claims.the poll, commissioned by the icelandic ethical humanist association, claims that 93.9 per cent in the under 25 category responded that the universe was created by the big bang.

  just over 6 per cent responded with ‘don’t know’ or ‘other’.

  none of the respondents, however, believed that the universe had been created by god.

  maybe it is just me but when i read this paragraph all i could do is shake my head and wonder how i used to buy into this crap and how people don't wonder what the hell the writers are thinking'.

  I quite liked the 100 million died in wars in 100 years line.

  A quick look at WW1 and WW2 gives us 80 million of those.

  So in the first 30 years or so four-fifths of all the war dead occur and in the last 70 years "only" 20 million.

  basically because they feel they are not being blessed.. this is not to say that all gb members feel this way.

  the power hungry ones love getting the whip out.

  the other members incorrectly look to the old testament for answers.. they are telling the sheep to be faithful, dedicated, self sacrificing, serving to the fullest, whole hearted and obedient.

  It's like watching a game of chess where the GB are down to a rook (D'fing), a knight (jw dot org) and a few pawns. (elder and CO enforcers)

  They fight tooth and nail, they put up defences but they are facing a pair of rooks and a queen (financial issues, false promises creating apathy and child abuse exposure) which are circling and taking a pawn here and there and are slowly but surely backing them into a corner.

  It's a slow game but it's finally going in the right direction.

  Elder School Video

  hope you guys can help me find something.

  there was a video circulating about three years ago showing a sample judicial meeting, which basically ended up with the other elders slamming the one guy who was trying to be somewhat merciful.

  of course the person was df'd.. my husband said at the meeting they actually had a talk saying that now the elders look for any reason not to df, etc.,etc.. i am trying to find that video.

  Sorry I misunderstood - I thought you meant he was at the elders meeting where the video was shown, not that he was simply "at the meeting" as in a congregation meeting.

  Sounds like he is an honest, caring and sincere man. Look after each other.

  But if he is in elder then he would have seen the video at the elders school. If so then part of him knows that the session was little more then a reminder not to be too lenient.
