Should I stay married to my JW wife
by gatorguy inme and my wife were at the beach the other day and i finally told her, i don't think i believe in god anymore.
i fessed up to the fact that it started with me doubting some jw beliefs and then it just led me to this point where i don't even believe in god.
i wouldn't say that i even have a negative view towards jw's or religion in general.

JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?
by KateWild ini saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.
they were not actively approaching anyone.
what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

Hi Thaddeus thanks for posting.
They will run away when the questioning gets tough even if polite. Google "jehovahs witnesses run away bristol" and the trolley shown in the first two clips are from I believe Bristol England.

How long can this cult remain with only kids becoming members?
by Crazyguy init's become clear that very few from outside the religion are joining anymore.
if only the kids of the people that are already in are the one replacing the members as they die off and 50% let's say of the kids leave then how long can they realistically last before the downturn becomes obvious?.

Good post half banana.
The "pressure on numbers" has started and will build. The wackier and harsher they get, more and more will wake up.
More will leave, more will fly under the radar and seeing it for the crock of crap it all is will not shun their family like they are expected to. Imagine you are a parent with young teenage kids seeing the "don't pick up the phone/scowl at your kid when she is being disfellowshipped" video. The deluded diehards will continue but they will increasingly be the mentally and emotionally defective. More will delay their kids getting baptised.
Others will become more apathetic and depressed. The congregations - especially in the western world - will hollow out and contract from the inside. I just hope the slow drip drip will become a steady stream.
I don't see a sudden destructive force but I do see JW-ism stagnating/withering and those wanting to escape will have an increasingly good support structure to help them.

No, what you see is the bottom half of a long beard, but without the full picture posted by Orphan Crow I can see why you might think that.

Our cong's territory is quite small. About 8 miles by 4 is the extent of it and so the cong always meets together except on a Saturday where the 5 groups meet in their corner of the territory. Except the 2nd Saturday of the month where we all meet together at the KH.
When I was an elder and awake I always counted (mostly fake) between 8 and 11 hours - maybe 12 - 14 in memorial season.
For years after that I reported 6/7hrs (probably 2 or 3 really) so that I could be a mic handler and read at the CBS study (instead of being bored at the meetings).
Now I've been taken off of reading but am allowed to run a microphone. No one has had the decency to tell me I'm not on the reading list anymore but it's probably because my reported hours dropped to 3 to 4hrs. Now I report 2 or 3 hours and am still allowed to run a "microphone".
I "show my face" twice a month. Once on the 2nd Saturday and one other Saturday with "my" group. If I'm given some not homes to do I cross off about half of them without doing them and do the rest. I never hand the NH slip back to the conductor and if reminded I say I'll do some on the way home from the meeting Sunday - which I never do.
Next stage is reporting 1 to 2 hrs and only showing up on the congregation Saturday.

@cleanideas
"going rouge"?
I'd certainly be red-faced and embarrassed going in "the ministry" like that!

Why are some that post here JW apologists?
by ctrwtf inmy rant tonight is against the quasi religious apologists that post on this board.
those who at once rail against the jw's then later talk about how "orderly" and "neat" the witnesses are at their conventions.
those who site the benefits of bloodless surgery to some who have the luxury and time to actually make an educated choice, while ignoring the tens of thousands who've died because they happen to be in an accident or succumb to a disease for which there is no other treatment.. i understand the power of cognitive dissonance.
