Jesus was a human sacrifice.
yesterday, i missed a call and got a long voicemail from an elder who would like to meet with my wife and i some time this weekend, with another elder who dealt with my brother.
i haven't responded.
it's meeting night tonight, and my wife has already talked about staying home to do yoga with me instead.. yeah.

Jesus was a human sacrifice.
that admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.
I just scanned that article ... what a self serving bunch of crap.
in the letter of 21st may 2016 the gb explain that examining the scripture and yearbook will be available at beginning in october ... .
then we are the 26 octobre 2016 ... i saw examining the scripture ... but not yet yearbook .... is the gb modifying the figure of annual report ?
or the partakers ?
If you look on jaydubyadotborg all the previous yearbooks over the last few years seem to be uploaded in late December.
conventions always just seemed like more of a vacation to me than anything else, especially if you had to travel out of town for it, but definitely were exhausting especially toward the end of each day.
for some reason i didn't mind the special and circuit assemblies too much, probably because they seemed like more of a social event than anything else and only 1-2 days.
the memorial always was kind of boring to me.
I was at Edinburgh in '65 but can't remember much I was only 4 at the time! It runs into a 9am to 9pm mush with Twickenham and the daddy of all UK assemblies - Wembley London 1969!
don't think it's been mentioned here before, but it seems like the cache creek congregation is no more?.

Cache Creek has been Cashed in!
we all know that education is severely demonized in this religion.
and that the elders are appointed based on how many meetings they attend, hours they put in on the ministry and general attitude to other elders (as apposed to, you know, actual theological training and counseling) - so my question is, what were your elders occupations outside the kingdom hall?.
in my old congregation our elders consisted of:.
COBE - Retired Double Glazing Salesman
Service Overseer - Retired Builder
Secretary - Retired Insurance Broker Branch Manager
WT overseer - Window Washer
CLAM (TMS) overseer - Alarm Installer
Other elder one - Retired Telecoms Engineer
Other elder two - Retired self employed Courier "Man with a Van"
Other elder three - Window Washer
Other elder four - Just died (Retired Janitor)
well, round my way (south of the uk) all the way up to and including the regional conventions this summer, baptism numbers have been extremely low.
but i have just received news of three recent circuit assembly days where the figures seem to be higher.
(all have been across the last three weekends at a uk assembly hall in october).
@ steve2
No it wasn't written by me with a sense of irony. But seeing all the responses I'm reassured that it should have been. I forgot how low the baptisms had become pre 2014, let alone just after.
this is absolutely feckin' priceless.. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/videos/viewpoints-origin-of-life/petr-muzny-law-professor/.
in yet another appeal to authority, jw.org has trotted out a professional to vouch for creation.
this guy is a law professor.
It's rather easier for a lawyer to do a "good job" when the law of the land (or EU in the cited case) and morality are on your side.
Stick him in front of the incisive Angus Stewart and "iron fist in a velvet glove" Peter McClellan of the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse and watch him blanch and turn to mush like Toole and Tokley - the WT legal boys.
my ex-wife actually opened up to me today over the phone.
she was quite anxious and, i could sense, i little upset.
for those that dont know my situation im separated from my wife.
DJS
A combination of Judge Judy and Nathan R. Jessup.
And that may not be a bad thing ...

@Hernandez
An excellent post!
Thanks for the slap upside of the head. I'm a little older than you and all you say is so true. I hope you are right again - I'd like to hope that this tiny increase in local baptisms is like the final twitchings in 1945 of the talons of the Nazi eagle.
