I wonder if they (GB) knew this added investigation was coming down the pipe a few weeks ago and this is why the Feb 2017 WT (Study copy) had that eye catching sentence about the GB in it?
just received this update.

has anyone seen the paperback editions of previous and recent bookstudy pubs.
i haven't seen them here in aus?.
also i recieved a email today from my brother, who too is a enquiring jw.
That's a better resurrection than Lazarus, smiddy!
The points are good from the original poster though. The paperback stuff was an original cost cutting measure - remember those awful paperback bibles before the present silver one? And some of the books offered (like the CD-ROM still does) contained "old truths".

may 21, 2016. we are pleased to inform you that electronic versions of the annual items for 2017 will be made available for download on jw.org beginning in october of this year.
this includes examining the scriptures daily—2017 and the 2017 yearbook of jehovah’s witnesses.
Look at the upload dates of previous on line Yearbooks on jayborg. They are usually late December.
Anyway I expect "they" are deciding whether to fudge the figures or work out whether the fall out is worth it if they drop them all together.
well how's it going round your way?
massive increase of interested ones?
did you even know it was supposed to be happening?
In answer to the more recent posts this has been an "extra effort" for October started with a BoE letter back in March/April (Thanks WIFI BANDIT) and those newer small invites have been handed to mag routes and relatives.
The final figure for week 5 was 58 plus 12 listening in.
So it has crept up a little bit but still not even a match for the 75 publishers and my observation is that while there were a handful of new faces they all seemed a bit Misfit/Odd/Elderly/lonely types. Probably those long term return visits that look good padding out reports but going nowhere.
Let's see what happens as winter draws in. We've had an exceptionally mild and fairly dry October this year in my neck of the woods.

4 weeks in and it's
1. 45 plus 12 on phone
2. 55 plus 10
3. 52 plus 8
4. Assembly Day
5. Tell you soon.
well, i got myself in a dilemma.
i'm currently 18, being baptised for a year.
i had my doubts, but due to a variety of reasons (getting subtle flack for not baptised, not having a support system even if i wanted to leave).
Welcome! Be careful not to "commit a DF offence" by action or word so that the rug is pulled from under you. Meeting with elders and telling them how you feel can rapidly (within minutes, even) become the basis for an apostasy charge.
due to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?
remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.
what about the thousands that don't get caught?
Hi Tami, I'm sorry to hear your awful story. As an ex-elder in the UK who heard of a few cases of child abuse in my vicinity it was men or older teenage boys who committed abuse. As more and more news articles of JW abuse have come to the fore I have heard of rarer cases where women were abusers too.
To have your own mother abuse your own children is probably among the sickest of the sick as far as paedophilia can go - my heart goes out to you.
You have true friends here. Please stay.
in recent months i have personally experienced 3 times how jehovah's witnesses' thinking and ad hominem attacks are being molded by their masters in the wtbts.. 1) j.w.
family members have stated that i am no longer part of the family because i say "negative things" about the org.. 2) my closest friend in my former congregation complained several weeks ago that i was "finding fault" with the org every time we had a conversation.
nothing from him since.. 3) when reverse witnessing to an elder at a trolley recently, he accused me of "criticizing the organization.".
Quite correct, Searcher. And of course we are wise to remember that we are not to put our trust in "princes nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation" Ps. 146 v 3 - who of course include the GB.
yesterday, i missed a call and got a long voicemail from an elder who would like to meet with my wife and i some time this weekend, with another elder who dealt with my brother.
i haven't responded.
it's meeting night tonight, and my wife has already talked about staying home to do yoga with me instead.. yeah.
@cold steel
Jesus was a human sacrifice.
that admission in the feb.17 ,study edition of the watchtower , " who is leading gods people today ?
" "the governing body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it (they/we) can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction .".
have the many jehovahs witnesses past and present who have lost their lives by refusing blood transfusions due to the prohibition on blood tranfusions by jehovahs witnesses really got the sense of this statement ?.
I just scanned that article ... what a self serving bunch of crap.
