  Australia: Successful Liability Case against the Watchtower

  there's some fantastic news on jwvictims.org regarding a liability case filed against the watchtower in australia.

  according to the reporter, alexandra james, the civil case was mediated on last month and therefore there will be no court proceedings to report on.

  the reporter understands that there is no gag orders but it is currently under confidentiality privileges.also reported was the fact that the case had run for 18 months and involved a western australian abuse survivor.

  (in fact, i remember a thread post here a few years back, where it was mentioned that all halls are going to get the jw.org signs on them.

  a local jobo recently told me (or told me recently), that the uk government will seize unused kingdom halls and other churches if they are empty or not used.. the jobo said this was a new thing from the uk government.

  the jobo was vague about it and couldn't verify their source.. now, i know russia is doing stuff but i've not heard anything about the uk.

  it doesn't sound plausible.. i've searched the tinternet but can't find anything suggesting this.. i'm sure it's just utter jobo propaganda scare tactics and rumours.

  What Type of Elder Body Did You Have?

  i was an elder in two different congregations and both were conservative and strict, especially congregation number one.

  it was headed by a former branch servant as they were called back then.

  all elders were by the book.

  I knew of one PO - first name Norman. Nickname "Stormin' Norman".

  The type that thought the PO was the Congregation Servant. Ruled with an iron fist.

  Happily deceased for many years now. Wife soon remarried and moved away. Daughter was nuts anyway and son topped himself.

  Tragic family that dragged others along in their miserable mental delusion.

  Bit surprised with a resume like that that he finds it difficult finding "ladies". I mean if a guy like that rocked up at most kingdom halls and portrayed him self as a brother reaching out (perhaps that is the problem) then he'd soon find a "nice" spiritual sister or three.

  Hello Eddie and welcome to this forum.

  I am afraid to say that you are "barking up the wrong tree" and that you will find many here who believe you have made a fundamental (no pun intended) error in becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses. This will be based on real truth - (jwfacts is a good google) not wishful thinking.

  If you are truly open minded you can become better informed and better prepared for all that will happen to you if you choose to get sucked deeper into your new found religion.

  You seem like a nice but naive chap. I mean - instantly sticking your mobile number on the web is a no-no I would suggest. And you will find ladies more in tune with you by volunteering to genuinely help others in real charitable works (Acts 20 v 35) rather than standing by a witness cart smiling blandly and telling folk the end is near (in direct contravention of Luke 21 v 8)

  Of course being in the USA you will probably find that you will be "required" to shave off your beard in direct contradiction of Levitucus 19 v 27 before being allowed any basic privileges.

  Sorry to sound jaded - but I am a fifty year in, ex-presiding overseer who has seen the Watchtower for what it truly is. A manipulative cult masquerading as an "angel of light" twisting scripture in its primary goal of control and financial self-preservation.

  hi there, i found out yet about the ship's which our holy stock company watchtower had in paraguay, el pionero uno, the ship el pionero dos and el pionero tres.

  all three have been built by jehovah's witnesses themselves and the first 2 ships have been sold with 100% interest.

  i am now interested if anyone of you heard if watchtower does the same in other countries, like the philippines, venezuela or belize, building ships for free by the cult members and selling them years later profitable.
