  Are Circuit Overseers next?

  last year saw the elimination of the district overseer...and circuit overseers now must retire at 70. how long until the circuit overseer is no more?

  of course, the role might still exist, they would simply not get paid.

  they would have to care for their own expenses.

  Take two circuits and make it one. So now 40 congs. Lose 10/20% in amalgamations and KH sales and you are down to 32 - 36. Let's say 34. So 40 - 34 = 6 congs less. So 6 x 2 visits per year saved = 12 weeks of CO time.

  Now ... CO visits one a year and a sub-co (from a pool of say half a dozen) does the other visit. The saved 12 weeks can be used for extra circuit assemblies as the new super-circuit won't fit into the assembly hall so easily. They can also be used for trouble shooting so that the CO might make two visits per year to "trouble-making" congs that need "specialised shepherding" (tm).

  So CO's halved, CO apartments halved, CO cars halved, CO wives halved, CO wages and medical halved.

  Steady ... the layoffs aren't all immediate. Some now, some by the end of December, all by the end of August.

  Remember when you could wear casual clothes to the congregation book study?

  i would get home from work,eat dinner,shower and put on jeans,a shirt and gym shoes to the book study.

  then,one day a letter was read where men would need to wear a suit and tie and the woman would have to wear dresses.

  it was stated in a letter that the change was due to, '' giving a better witness to anyone who would watch us walking into our local congregation or a neighbor's house.''.

  UK - large town with half a dozen congregations.

  I attended book study from 60's until it ended.

  Brothers always wore a tie and never jeans.

  Hot summer (UK - 25 degrees C and above) dress shirt, tie, meeting trousers.

  Cold winter (UK zero and below) suit or sports jacket, sometimes a sweater. Always a tie.

  Sisters always had skirts or dresses.

  Exceptions - snow on ground, unable to drive and so might walk in jeans, walking boots. Sisters too.

  If your meetings are a Saturday it will likely be read later in the week at the service meeting. If a Sunday probably after the Watchtower. If you are USA.

  Cedars leaked letter requested to be taken down by WTBTS

  i don't know if this is already posted so sorry people if it is.

  cedars site has had a request to take down the leaked letter regarding changes to the theocratic ministry school and other issues.. the reason given by wt is that it is a "copyright" issue.

  of course this validates the letters authenticity even more.. have a good day or night people.

  Question:

  If a DMCA notice is sent then can you "reasonably" be allowed a little time to A) see it and B) Act upon it?

  E.g. It's sent on Oct 1st at 10.00 am. You don't open it until the next day Oct 2nd "because you're busy and asked your wife to open your emails" and because "you were on your way for a weekend break in an area with poor internet access for a couple of days" you couldn't take it down until you got back, sort of thing.

  Seen an Angel witnessing...

  here in france we received instruction to stand back from the cart.. so you can see "angels" witnessing with a cart by its own, no one around, and no one cares, i stayed a while, did my shopping, and half an hour later the "poor angel" was still there on his own.... i guess wherever is the publisher, he s hard working counting his hours..

  And if god doesn't want anyone to die then he should have sorted out it long ago. Every year that goes by and earth's population increases at about 1000 X the amount jw's increase.
