what buzz word from the jw's do you hate & why?
by Sabin inso my hubby has been on a bit of a roll about the jdubs, we were talking a lot about them & he said the buzz word he hate's the most is "worldly" why?
because he say's "with that one word they have condemned (according to their believes) a person as being worthy of nothing but death.

Hi RavenPearl
I believe you're over thinking this. Dealers are there to make money. You're there to get the best deal you can.
If you are emotionally attached to a particular bike then you will pay more. Salespeople (in whatever field) are trained to press those buttons.
I bought a brand new Honda in the UK for my wife and got 12.5% off of list price and a set of waterproofs thrown in the deal. If I had gone to a discount dealer I might have got 20% off. But I wanted it to be local so she could ride in and get a bit of TLC when the bike needed servicing during its warranty.
My own bike I bought secondhand and privately because I was able to do basic servicing and there was no warranty aftercare involved.
Your "blue book" in the USA is probably about right give or take up or down for mileage accessories - we have similar in the UK - that I suggest is where you want to be.
Make an offer and walk away. You can always swallow your pride and go back the next week because it will still be there if it's overpriced! If you are close to the salespersons minimum deal he will come after you with a better offer.
Ticket price: £6000
Salesman "£5000 - it's my very best super duper price, my boss will kill me!"
You: "I really want it but I've only got £4,000."
Salesman "Sorry can't do it."
You: "I'll go a way and think about it." (SALESPEOPLE HATE THIS!)
S. "Meet me half way then ..."

Latest Letter
by Coded Logic indear mentally diseased apostates,.
we are happy to report to you that we are tired of waiting around for jehovah to do his his whole "armageddon thing" and have instead taken steps to expedite the end ourselves.
we are very confident as "guardians of the doctrine" that we can accomplish this by dismantling the wtbts and its subsidiaries which will, in turn, force god's hand and bring about the coming of jesus riding on a white horse out of the clouds with a sword - or skulls - or scales - err, whatever .

LETTER TWO
Dear M.D.A.
Since our last letter we write to say things are going swimmingly! To accelerate the decline you will note that "Tight Pants" are being highlighted as Brazen Conduct in the June 15th Watchtower.
Also that Garlic bread features as the leavening that ferments the whole lump on jay-w-dot-orgasm in the excellent broadcast by Brother Flo-down.
Finally we will be "Lett-ing" you have more Lett on GBTV! If this doesn't bring the numbers down and close the checking accounts we do not know what will!
Warmest regards,
Splane, Morris and the Spoutcraps

Leaving the JWs
by Hurting ini am 32 years and have recently left the organisation.
i got baptised in last feb. please excuse any typing errors i have dyslexia.
it has been so hard this year i have gone through so many ups and downs.
-
freddo
Hi Hurting! Welcome.
As an ex elder and long time jw (50 years plus if you count childhood) I have come across many strange characters, vulnerable people even crazy and twisted people within the walls of the Kingdom Hall.
But the description of how your twisted and crazy mother treated you kids is up there with the worst. I dread to think what happened in her life to make her such an awful parent.
I mean getting sisters to come round and beat you? Am I reading that right? Sounds almost (but not quite) like the lovely "Eunice Spry" from Gloucestershire, England who was able to hide her wickedness form other jw's and "worldly" authorities for so long.
She's even got her own wikipedia page bless her ...
Anyway I've gone on a rant. I am sorry and I would like to say you are very brave posting here and we on this forum wish you all the very best in your future life.

I can't just walk away, I need to keep reinforcing what I did was right (Leaving the org)
by pleaseresearch inwhen i speak to my mum about things, she says why do you keep looking on the internet and news etc... why don't you just live your life and forget what you learned growing up.. maybe i was so so indoctrinated as a child that even though i have woken up and learnt ttatt, i still need to keep up to date with new findings from ex and fellow brothers and sisters.
listening to their testimony about why they left.. this was to me and all of you i'm sure, the truth.
so to finally wake up is absolutely massive.

I'm with you on this - seeking reassurance that I had it right (as in it's all false) in becoming "mentally out" is still good for me.
I reckon the thing that "did it" for me was the 1995 generation change. I didn't do anything then but looking back that was my "they just keep on moving the goalposts when they run out of time like they did in '75" moment.
It probably took me until about 2002/3 and going on the evil internet to realise something was really wrong and that there were others in the U.S./U.K/NZ/Aus/Canada etc. that felt and had similar experiences to me.
BBC's "Panorama" and the child abuse episode where in the UK they (the org) stopped the Watchtower half an hour early and read a letter of pathetic self-justification just accelerated the pace.
I was dumb enough to "try harder" thinking I could make a difference as an elder but then not long after I resigned.
I was quite vocal for a while but could feel the responses which made me realise that if I wanted to keep a relationship with family and friends I would have to work smart and play the long game.
This year has been better - what with jwborgtv, the ARC and "money grabbing" - and I have been more vocal again and this time I really don't care where it ends up.
I have one serving elder who I can say anything to, who is quite "in" but doesn't tell on me - an ex MS who laughs at the crazy antics of the gb with me and another ex MS who is very agitated at the way things are going and we can have very long discussions about how bad jw'ism has got.
Unfortunately my wife cannot let go - but on the upside she knows how I feel and doesn't tell on me either.
Slowly slowly ... but mentally it's great being free and has been for a few years now.

genuine english guy seeking jw lady
by english_gentleman inhi, i believe that a lady is put on earth to satisfy the needs of her partner and respect his views in all matters.. i realize some here may consider that old fashioned and not based on sexual equality.. yet a lady and man are not created equal because the lady gives birth and the man must sire many children.
if you are a lady under 30 and keen to meet me, willing to cook and breed, then please message me here.
please do not contact me if you disagree with my views, we can agree to differ.

Music Video: Would Jesus Wear a Rolex on JW Broadcasting? - PARODY
by cappytan inthis took quite a while this evening.
so worth it though.
hope you enjoy!

Bump!
I love this parody - for anyone that missed it - it is brilliant. But read the WT 15th Aug 1994 page 11 paragraph 3 as well.
The Society actually quote the lyrics of the song! Hypocrisy at its best.
Please pass this on to anyone you know - even anonymously if you need to.

5 years since I attended a kingdom hall meeting, feels so good!
by Joliette inwell, i'm 25% there, but i can't put in words how good i feel!!!!!!!!!
once i move to a different city i'll have this travesty of a religion out of my system, i'll be at 100%.
two more years, i'm 33 years old and more excited then ever.
-
freddo
Why do you "only" rate yourself as 25% out and needing another two years for 100%? Given you were never baptised and haven't been in service since 2004 I mean?
As for the mind control, with me that part of me is 100% mentally out. It's only disentangling family and the hope of freeing them and others that keeps me (bodily) there.
