by wavvy inmy mother, like all the dubs, excels at dropping casual sentences here and there designed to suck me back into the borg.... her latest subtle (not) attempt to use my father's death as the drawing card was to send an sms saying only: "death is so unnatural".. of course i remember all those public talks, so i know exactly where she's coming from: we were made to live forever so no wonder death is so painful for us to deal with.. but honestly, what planet are they on????

Should I just keep my distance?
by wavvy inreading other people's posts, its obvious that those of us who still have contact with our jw family are constantly bombarded with sick propaganda designed to make us feel guilty and scared.
we are all so happy to be out, yet these contacts with our family revive all the bad feelings.. my parents are always calling me to meet up with them for coffee or something.
i don't want them to be a part of this new life of mine because i don't need that kind of crap all the time.

How do 7th-dayers compare
by wavvy ini'm just wondering if anyone know how seventh-day-adventists compare to the jws in terms of emotional manipulation etc.. my husband's ex-wife has become a 7th-dayer so the step-kids are being raised that way.
i notice a lot of behaviour in her that reminds me of the jws.
she adopts that 'holier than thou' stance most of the time and seems to believe that she is protecting the kids by not letting them see their father although he's just the most loving dad around.
