What Are Underrated Movies That Should've Been Bigger Hits?
by minimus ini've recently got a comcast movie package that gives all encore, hbo, cinemax, stars, showtime and ifc and other indie movies.
there are so many good movies that have been made that just didn't garner enough attention.. what movies do you think are good that weren't huge successes?.

Thriller Movie "The Village" must be based on Jehovah's Witnesses!
by Witness 007 inm. shamalan's movie deals with a village of "amish" type people who are too scared to venture outside the village since their "elders' tell them the forrest is full of demons.
they refuse to be "part of the world" and all medical care.
it turns out the village is in a nature preserve in the 20th century but the elders had bad experiences in the world and made up the demons to scare the young villagers into never leaving!

I've seen it, love all his work, didn't think about it in that way before probably because I was still in and never made the connection! That's so weird that it seems so obvious now! That mind control is something else!...........wf

Baptism Question question
by mindmelda ini was baptized at age 16 in 1976. i was baptized "old style" meaning before the 1985 change where one dedicates oneself to the organization in the baptism questions.
i was baptized "in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit".. i have some questions:.
can a minor (under age 18 in america) be held legally responsible for a public statement like answering the baptismal questions?

Why's everybody getting divorced????!
by homeschool inthis is insanity!
literally four couples that i know closely & personally have told me in the last two weeks that they are divorcing their spouses.
and there are a couple on here whom i've discovered are separating as well (these two i do not know personally, but i'm a little surprised & saddened regardless).

Yes I was there last year. Like someone else said, I didn't want to die, I just didn't want to live the way I was living and at one point I thought death was the only way out. Went to the elders about it, there advice was embarrasing to say the least, went to a dr. he gave me tons of meds, a friend recommended a therapist which helped so much. Never did have to take the meds and I still do therapy and I read a ton of stuff. Feel much better now but believe me I have dark moments and days. One of my favorite quotes:
" the man, who in a fit of melancholy, kills himself today, would have wished to live had he waited a week." French Author Voltaire

This is so heartbreaking. And to think that your wife or the 'brothers' could read this very thing and not feel a thing over it! They are void of all emotion. I don't even know what to say except I to felt like I was living in a 'trapped' life. I had to get some therapy and I've read a couple of really, really good books to cope with a situation like this. Books and therapy that helped me to see that you don't have to feel trapped even though you are in that situation. You can control your thoughts and feelings on this while the action you need to take is making it's way to you. Even though my physical arrangement hasn't changed, yet, my thoughts about it and my life have, which makes it tolerable for the time being. I'm so sorry for your situation. You are in my prayers as well...........wf

It's time to quit when there is no anger, hurt, jealousy, bad intent or any other negative thing left. It sounds weird but it's true. When you can both walk away being friends then it's time.......wf
