You know more than you think pt.....And that whole, "go to a meeting, we welcome you or anyone else, it might help you understand her better"........is NOT their motive. They have one motive only, to get more members and to get you to conform to them. It wont matter if you go in there for the sake of your wife, they will feel like they have the authority over you and her, they will not allow you an 'opinion' of what you think of it, you will always be wrong. Just saying "oh even is she's df'd she's welcome here, it's open to the public", etc.......that IS arrogant! You need to stay far away from the jw stuff. And it would be good if you two sat down together and really talked about this, I mean in detail about where she's been with this religion, where she is now, and where she wants to end up. You need to seriously know these things before you guys get married. Just my opinion.........wf

df'd and assemblies.
by ptrehearn152 inhi newbie here, i have a question that is begining to bug me a little.
i am not a jw or ever will be but my partner was some years ago and quite devout about the religeon then she was df'd for commiting adultry with another man (not me) who was not a jw, she got divored from her jw husband and left behind her 2 boys and went to live with 'the other man', anyway over the years her relationship with her 2 boys began to grow again and now she see's them once every 2 weeks, i should perhaps point out that her ex is a devout jw, she has told me that she would like to at some point go back to the 'hall' and carry on her religeon, i said that i dont have a problem with that but, i wasn't keen on the idea of her walking the streets knocking on doors due to the amount of hatred that some poeple clearly have for jw's and the fact that we now seem to live in a violent world, yes i know that jw's have to do so much 'service work', she has told me that she has not visited a hall since her df so therefore has not repented her sins as it were but on sunday she said that there was an assembly in our local vicinity (it's the annual one) and she would like to go.
i found this a bit odd that someone who had been df'd would be allowed to go to the jw's event of the year so began to wonder if whilst visiting her sons she maybe did visit the hall to somehow show repent with a view to be allowed back into the faith.

Ok I just have to say this. Reniaa said things like: "she will only deal with the elders for now......" How loving does that sound. Then she said: "she could be reinstated by as early as six months........" Repentence is something intirely up to this woman and God. And I bet you a billion dollars God and her are ok. Without realizing it Reniaa you just proved that this whole df thing is man-made with those statements. Thank you for showing ptrehearn152 that info straight from an active jw. And yes, ptrehearn152, when the "elders deal with her" your not going to like it.
ptrehearn152, as much as you love this woman, if she is even thinking about heading back in the jw direction for whatever reason, you are in for some problems to say the very least. It wont be as easy as just 'let her do her thing' and you'll be there to support her. Although that is very loving on your part be prepared for some heartache. It's just the way it is in this jw world. There are tons of experiences on this board to confirm that. Reaching out here was a good thing for you though. Welcome!........wf

galatians 5:22on the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith,23mildness, self-control.
against such things there is no law.

It's weird but I never see myself dying, ever. And yes I want to live forever on this beautiful planet! Even though there is some work to be done. But I only want to live forever if everyone is happy and healthy.........wf

Ouch, he moved to enemy territory! I don't know about that Sooner..................... I've gone to the OU TX game once and loved the whole atmosphere and game. I'm pretty sure a bunch of us are going this year. If we can't get into the game we can at least hang out down town! Good to know you guys are close!........wf

So crapola and sooner are related!! I wonder if the 'sooner' part meant OU. Of course it did right! Do you reside in okc as well? And yes lets all have a or two, or three! It's also my son's 19th b-day today and we are actuall having a sort of party. Just family really, he hasn't developed any friends yet outside of the org, but in time. I've been trying to get him to sign up here where there's lots of friends!
Thanks everyone for their thoughts on this thread. Chalam, your right, kids are much more connected with their intuition than we are after years and years of conditioning in this world. I know kids in this org who just are zombied out, they can't make a single decision on their own, have no direction, etc.......Oh but they are the ones to be admired? I feel so bad for the young ones still in and where this is going to go for them unless they let their intuition be their guide. That is my prayer for the children.
Now lets party!.............wf

Tell me more about the Photo Drama of Creation.......
by awildflower inthis has always been a bragging point in the org.
i don't know to much about it (way before my time in the org) and is it true that it was the first of it's kind, whatever it was?
i'd like to know more, it's been on my mind for a few days, i don't know why.........wf.

Ok have you ever been asked this question in regards to Isaiah 43:10 ?
by StoneWall inhow could god have always existed since it plainly says near the end of that verse before me there was no god formed?.
here is the quote from the nwt and i also looked it up on numerous other translations and they all used the word before.. .
isaiah 43:10. you are my witnesses, is the utterance of jehovah, even my servant whom i have chosen, in order that you may.

I don't know. Maybe it means Jesus here because it sounds like this God had a beginning, that would fit Jesus more and not Almighty God. Then it says "you are my Witnesses". Most Christians focus on witnessing about Jesus. Then the part "there is no savior besides me", all Christians know that Jesus is their savior. These are just simple thoughts. I haven't even taken my Bible out and read the context of it and believe me I'm not trying to start something here. Just thinking outloud. I'm sure I'm way off!..........wf
