People to talk to. Things to learn about the org I left that a "sister with an unbelieving mate" would never have known. Meet new people. Learn another language, say something else in French Paul.
my mother called today said i must, must, must go get this book and read it.
i see it every time i go to the book store but thought it had something to do with religion so i didn't want it.
i'm going to get it on friday and read it this weekend just wondered if anyone else had read it..
Ok, just finished the book. It is written of course in "Christian language" so if you can't tolerate that then you wont get through the book. However if you can get past that, there are great lessons to be learned and lots of enlightened information in it. I was a little disappointed that the writers true motive here still came out as being "Jesus is the path, the only path", BUT all in all, a very good read, interesting, gave me some stuff to think about.
I can see how if your a Christian stuggling with how things are going in your religion or faith, how this book could be very helpful to you and refreshing and answer a lot of questions. If you are someone who reads this and is drawn to religion or Christianity, then I think you miss the point. Is that confusing enough? You just have to read it I guess.
would you use the handicap stall that is big and roomy ... even if other smaller stalls were available?.
Yeah Snowbird, especially in public bathrooms, the handicap one is always cleaner so I go there first!

I have.

I think what those mean is that IF there's a handicap person around then it's there's first for sure.
It's just a state of mind. When you realize that all you need in life is already right with YOU, and everything else that comes your way is just icing on the cake, then you'll be fine.
i had posted this as part of another thread, but thought it might make a good separate thread.
here's a jc fubar decision that i experienced.. i dealt with a brother who threatened to kill his family, my family, and then himself.
this guys' secret sins were becoming manifest and as an elder some things came to my attention, including wife abuse and according to her, allegations of possible misconduct with the young daughter.
Your believing that, tells me all there is to know about your credibility.
Gosh OldHippie that was truly rude. Everyone has a different experience in this org. What Life went through is more traumatic than you or I will ever know, assuming you have never been abused. I think you should clarify what you mean by that statement, really. How are you to know how one person would react to being molested. And your statement is the standard statement of jw's who don't understand, "blame it on the victim". Wow.
