I remember hearing the account about the pioneer who did 200 hours per month to make up the time for the JW he killed.
Omg, now that is a life sentence
ok my other thread was not totally what i was after.
after thinking it through i was wondering if any of you have ever heard of someone being hurt by a householder in field service.. .
like i mentioned in my latest thread about the sister who was murdered and then her death was blamed on her.. i know in the hall i grew up in there were many sex offenders living in the area.

interesting stuff.. sorry, governing body.
the world is just passing you by.
Great article. I stole it for another post if you don't mind.
i have been watching the discovery channel's, 'into the universe with stephen hawking' and it occurred to me that professor hawking knows more about heaven (which is just part of entire universe) than jesus did.
maybe jesus knew about black holes, alien life, other worlds, the origin of the universe, etc.
jesus could have told us something so remarkable about our universe that it would have taken us 2000 years to confirm jesus' divine knowledge and prove he was the son of g-d, but he instead decided to tell us that heaven "has many rooms"- whoop-dee-doo.. i don't think jesus had a clue that there was anything out the in the physical universe beyond what he could see with his own eyes.
Stole this from another thread. This would have been nice to know before Jesus sent all those swine over the edge!
but we also have to be honest and admit that the teachings of Jesus, if nothing else about him, deserve some respect and admiration.
PS, agreed.
LMAO
was there one incident or epiphany that struck you hard?
or was it a slow...gradual awakening (no pun)?.
my coming out of the jw coma (as i like to call it) began at a family rendezvous in the beautiful florida gulf coast.
When I learned how the WT viewed Black people.
Sylvia when I first moved to Okc six years ago the black "brothers" in my hall were telling me that the KH used to be segregated here. I was shocked! I mean I know about segregation but you'd think in the "True Org" that wouldn't be the case but they swore it was. Is that true?
I have to thank Oprah actually for my exit. I was going through some stuff with my son and these idiot "elders" and they botched it up so bad that I was already in a "thinking" frame of mind. Oprah had her book selection A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and since I followed her books I bought it, read it, took the on line class she had about it and it changed my life. I even met several jw woman doing the same thing and they are my friends today because of it. It resonated with me to the core and I saw for the first time how RELIGION doesn't work that it serves the purpose of the ego. I left very quickly after that. But my FIRST opening in my mind was me defending my kids.

I actually made this observation on a thread sometime ago, but my take was that the JW's prove inadvertently that MOST people are not evil and bad simply because as much as they are in the ministry, it's rare for bad things to happen to them. I've spent hours in neighborhoods day and night and nothing ever happened to me, so where's all these evil people that need to be saved
here is an interesting first hand account of the gulf oil rig disaster.
i bold faced the operating pressure of the well.
in the article bop= blow out preventer.. .
Wow, very interesting, thanks for sharing Think.
as if "christians" really need more bad publicity (may you all have peace!)....

some interesting tidbits, in light of some recent posts here (bolding mine):.
The people of the Christian faith and the Jewish faith are the ones who built America, and it is not Islam." (Of course, no mention of the tribal "backs" on which "they"... in imitation of "christ"... did it, though...)
And I might add that half the Founding Fathers were Free Masons!
unbelievable.
we don't even get peace in the inner sanctuary of a restroom anymore.
is it me - or are we seeing these crazed magazines just anywhere and everywhere these days ??
This is so funny flipper! There is a line in a jw book that used to crack my son up all the time. It's not the restroom or stall or toilet, according to this publication I think you meant to refer to it "as the sanitation disposal system", LOL.

Great points Moshe!
