Hey my post didn't show up. I agreed with this: I like what Christ said, but that doesn't mean I believe he was the only person who figured most of that stuff out.

Stephen Hawking knows more about heaven than Jesus did.
by moshe ini have been watching the discovery channel's, 'into the universe with stephen hawking' and it occurred to me that professor hawking knows more about heaven (which is just part of entire universe) than jesus did.
maybe jesus knew about black holes, alien life, other worlds, the origin of the universe, etc.
jesus could have told us something so remarkable about our universe that it would have taken us 2000 years to confirm jesus' divine knowledge and prove he was the son of g-d, but he instead decided to tell us that heaven "has many rooms"- whoop-dee-doo.. i don't think jesus had a clue that there was anything out the in the physical universe beyond what he could see with his own eyes.

What is your level of morality?
by bluecanary inin my child psychology class we discussed lawrence kohlberg's cognitive theory of moral development.
i find the stages he outlines to be interesting and relevant to our experience as jws, particularly stage 4.. from my textbook, kohlberg's theory of moral development:.
level 1 preconventional morality:.

I'm stage 6 biased on your chart. I see things as "right or wrong" based on how they make ME feel and not based on what someone else including society tells me. That doesn't mean I would break laws just to break them, I recognize certain things are in place. But for personal morality, I go by my instincts and how my body responds to a situation, not necessarily my mind btw. And if something I did was hurting someone else, I wouldn't feel good therefore wouldn't do it.

Jehovah Witnesses- True Christians?
by rich5678 inwhat do you say to people outside the religion that say jehovah witnesses are the only true christians and they are the only group that follow the bible as opposed to other reilgions?
i see these comments on youtube about videos that addressed the issue with the policy jws follow today.
i am not bitter but i thought if you think that jehovah witnesses are true christians and follow the bible, why not join the group?

Depends on what your definition of "true Christian" is. IMO, no, they're not "true Christians" in fact they're not even true humans! In a cult your a little robot until further notice.

New CO talk: Be loyal to Org. even if you get weird instructions or can prove them wrong doctrinally!
by sir82 intheme was something about "loyalty to jehovah's visible organization".. i have neither the time nor inclination to summarize the whole thing, but a few points stood out:.
even if it causes you personal hardship.
example: joshua & caleb returned from spy trip to promised land with good report, but were "outvoted" by the other 10 spies.

WTF Excuse the language but if that doesn't sound cultish then I don't know what else does. That's exactly how Jim Jones got everyone to drink the coolade. Got parents to kill their children. Good Lord, will it ever end? Will people ever wake up!!

It was a joke because Jews don't eat pork...
I got the joke PS. I was just thinking instead of throwing all those swine over the edge he could have showed his disciples how to make pixie dust out of pig badder! Might have been helpful in healing. He didn't have to eat them to do that

Ever heard of James Harrison?
by sacolton inkeep reading .... james harrison has magical blood.
specifically, his blood contains an extremely rare enzyme that can be used to treat babies dying of rhesus disease.
if you've never heard of that disease and figure it's not a big deal, well, wait for the numbers.

Do you remember the moment that you stopped believing that it was "The Truth"?
by freeflyingfaerie inwas there one incident or epiphany that struck you hard?
or was it a slow...gradual awakening (no pun)?.
my coming out of the jw coma (as i like to call it) began at a family rendezvous in the beautiful florida gulf coast.
