This is one of the things that never sat well with me in the org. How could people be so good and yet I was being told that they are really NOT good because they are not jw's?! It was quite the struggle in my mind and it's completely wrong. I believe that whatever MOTIVE we do stuff out of is what counts, not WHAT we do. The jw's claim to DO a lot of good stuff, but most of the time the motive is all wrong therefore it's phony....wf

As a jw ,what did you make of non dubs doing christ like things and showing compassion
by looloo infor example what did you think of bob geldof organising band aid and the hit single "do they know its christmas " and shows like children of courage about kids who may have cancer but still find time to raise funds for ill people , or someone rescues a stranger from a burning building without a thought for themselves , when bob geldof did what he did for the starving in ethiopia did you never wonder why "true christians " did not get involved ?
and did you ever feel confused that the kid with cancer would be for it come armageddon because his parents were not jws despite being a much nicer kid than you often observed at the kingdum hall ?.

Wow. I mean, I have no words Well I guess I do. No wonder people in this org live in fear and anxiety with words like this. Why couldn't they just have said, "And the letter is outdated so dispose of it in some way.........." Glad I'm out!........wf

he lives with us to both help me with the rent and for them to save some money for their future.

So she tried to make other arrangements with him? It sounds like she was trying to respect his home and at least by suggesting to stay in separate rooms? If that's the case and he still didn't agree then, yes he's just being an a-hole, imo. He could have worked with them. But I have to admit, I wouldn't let a young couple stay in my house in the same bed either, separate rooms, yes, and only because right now I have a 13 year old daughter at home still. I might not care after that if they were engaged, idk. And I also have to say, it would be highly unlikely that these kids haven't had sex before. As moms we'd like to believe not, but that's usually not the case. BUT if it is, that's between them and only they know and good for them if they're waiting, but it sure would be a temptation to sleep together and not doing ANYTHING?? And I know how it feels as a mom when the jw's, especially these idiot men, mess with your kids. It happened to me and that's what started my fade.
This young couple is just going to have to respect the rules in the other house like they would anywhere else I'm afraid. But hang in there mom....wf

Elder uses Congregation Bible Study as an opportunity to ban the movie Avatar

) used this as a platform to say that the movie avatar is of satan and no christians should see it.. .
he said that he googled the (original) meaning of the word avatar and it was of hindu religious origin.
