So earlier today I was having lunch with my sister when 3 ladies walked in to the restaurant. One in her early 20's..one in her late 30's early 40's and the last one maybe somewhere in her 50's. When I looked up and glanced at them I said to my sister that I bet those are JW's since they were all dressed in service clothes. They ended up sitting by us and one of them brought their book bag in with the Asleep magazine peeking out. So nosey me was listening in to a little bit of their convo while eating. Then the young girl was talking about how she went to a concert (did'nt hear what type it was) and how she started to hand out magazines since she just felt that she had to share the good new with everyone there.
The rest of their conversation was pretty boring...talking about sister so and so being sooooo encouraging...However, I do have to say that I didn't hear them gossip (maybe they saved the gossip for actual field service). I was kinda hoping that they would so I could say something to them. Anyway.....Listening to them talk made me realize that their standard cult language has not changed a bit. I don't miss it at all.

Should we choose ease of technology over actual face to face communication?
by lalaa ini know that this doesn't have anthing to do with what's usually posted on here but i recently had a discussion with a friend of mine and she said that if she had that choice she would do everything on her computer or blackberry.
the thought of talking to people that she wasn't familiar with scared her at times.
she said that she knows a lot of people that feel the same way as her.....now i will admit i do love the internet, facebook, technology, etc.... (and this site)....but i think good old fashion face to face communication is still #1 in my book.. how do some of you guys feel about face to face interaction?.

Affidavit: Man Molests Girl At Church
Ramon Sanchez Charged With Indecency With A Child
Katrina Webber, KSAT 12 News Reporter
POSTED: Wednesday, July 14, 2010 UPDATED: 11:36 am CDT July 14, 2010
SAN ANTONIO -- A man blamed his lack of prayer for causing him to grope a 12-year-old girl during a worship service on the city's Southwest Side, an arrest affidavit stated.
Ramon Sanchez, 73, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of indecency with a child. He was being held in the Bexar County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
According to the affidavit, Sanchez befriended the girl by giving her money while they attended services at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 319 Price. Sanchez told the girl that every time she saw him leave to go to the restroom, she was to follow him so he could give her money, the affidavit stated.
On one occasion in January, the two met outside a bathroom, where Sanchez hugged, kissed and fondled the girl before handing her a $20 bill, the affidavit stated.
When detectives questioned Sanchez about the girl's claims, he told them that he usually would pray to help keep thoughts of young girls from "reaching my heart" but during that one incident, things happened so quickly, he didn't have time to pray, the affidavit stated. Sanchez also told detectives that he prayed for forgiveness afterward, the affidavit stated.

Is anyone celebrating the 4th?
by serenitynow! ini haven't started celebrating anything.
i kind of wanted to celebrate my birthday.
it's funny because the only person who gave me anything for my b-day was someone at work that i hate.

I celebrate all holidays the same way. I sleep in. I go out to eat. Go to the movies then off to the bar for a lot of drinks with friends.
Except for thanksgiving and christmas...Instead of going out to eat I will go to someone's place to eat and do the rest.

Day 1 of the convention
by NiceDream inhere's a brief recount of things that stood out to me this year upon my awakening...probably old hat for most of you.
the first experience i heard was from a sister who was afraid to speak to her fleshly sisters about "the truth" and her conscience was really bothered.
she felt horrible that they were going to die unless she shared the "truth" with them.

WOW! So glad that I don't go to these 3 day time wasters anymore.

Question about a funeral for a DF'd person???
by lalaa inif somebody had been df'd for years, showed no interest in coming back and died, would it be okay to go to their funeral if you're still active???
what if a regular pioneer was this individuals' sister in law, would it be okay for them to go?
also, the deceased is having an elder give a talk at the funeral home...one more thing....this person's family is either inactive or df'd...all will be there...this person only has one brother who is still in the truth.. i know it's been years since i've been out of the truth but the last time i checked it was inappropriate to go to a dead df'd person funeral.
